Where to get different length pins for servo?

The servo apply pin in my 2-4 servo assembly is too long, and it's preventing the band from loosening and it's keeping me out of 1st and 3rd gear. I need a different length piece. Does GM have part numbers for these? any clue what they are?

What does the tip of yours look like? there are six different size pins. Here are your options:

2 rings
3 rings
wide band
1 groove
2 grooves
no groove

They range from 2.59" all the way up to 2.73"

How far are you off? Do you know? Are you using a transgo kit?? If so, you can adjust your band via shims.

it's still too tight even with no shims on the transgo setup. I probably have the longest one, or one of the longer ones at least.

which ones are the shortest, and where can i get them?

thanks,
Alex

All you need to do is to grind the end of the pin down, just trying to make it rounded like it is originally. Otherwise you should be able to pick up a shorter one at a local tranny shop. Not too many shops actually stock these pins though. You can order them from the dealer. Only grind a little off at a time.

i would grind it down, but i'm worried i'll destroy the thing, and then i'll have to hunt down another pin later on. I'm hoping i can buy a few different sizes and experiment.

8667571 2.61-2.62" 2 rings
8667572 2.67-2.68" 3 rings
8667573 2.72-2.73" Wide Band
8680499 2.59-2.60" 1 Groove
8680500 2.65-2.66" 2 Grooves
8680501 2.70-2.71" NO Grooves

If you can identify your current pin by rings, grooves, or the lack there of, you see see where you need to go from there.

i have a 8680499 in my hand, and my original from the description i believe was a 8667572, so i believe i'm in good shape. I'm a good tenth of an inch shorter, which ought to do the job.
