Transmission: 6sp / TH350
Axle/Gears: 3.55 posi / 3.23
cause it's got mAd t0rq, y0!!!11!!!!!111111111!!!

Those other trannies will work.......w/an adapter plate. Otherwise, just get a v6 replacement & do it right & easier.

It easy to blow a tranny with 100s of 1000s of miles with little to no service. My T5 went at 200,400 miles

Just funny as last night I noticed I am getting close to 220,000 miles.

Less then 20,000 miles in 5 years? I need to drive more.

personally I have never trusted auto to last all too long.
That is just me.

As far as using your freinds V8 trans... nope, same type, different bellhousing. But you could pull both apart and swap the guts... but hell then you are rebuilding it, and you might as well spend the 2-300 and get new parts to replace everything...

Find a 60* V6 tranny core from 1988 & later.
It's a stronger upgrade to your current object.
Rebuild that better tranny.
Then swap and not worry no more.
Could/should run ya $600 range of parts & labor.

If you have never rebuilt one... you will need to take your time doing it.
If yours still moves, try to find a parts/core trans and rebuild that, or have that one rebuilt.

Forgive
When I offered suggestion I not noticed your car year.
Ya got the good one already.
Find a reputable shop
Don't try it yourself.
IT'S ALOT OF EFFORT TO FINALLY THINK YA GOT IT RIGHT (trying to rebuild it) THAN TO LET/PAY ANOTHER TO DO IT & get a warranty.
PS That don't mean ya found the best shop tho.
Do your best to get a good word of mouth recomendation.
The cost will still run ya up to $600 range.
DO your best to find best word of mouth reputation shop for the work.
Send a post over to the tranny side of this Third Gen site and maybe a lead could be found that way.

The correct solution is to have the car fixed.
It takes less than a day
IF "they" do the labor expect (CA prices) of atleast $1000.
Others can recommend, but you know the correct solution.
Have it done, as soon as ya can afford it.
And find other transportation until yours car is fixed.
