Centerline Thruster replace or modify

Now that I am working on putting my car back together I have come across a dilemma. I have a full set of Centerline thruster wheels that are brand new in the box. My daughter says replace them with something more modern like my CCW's on my 4th gen but i believe they are still a good looking wheel. The question is should I leave them as is maybe powdercoat the center black or just replace them all together. What do you guys think.

I'm not a fan of that wheel.

Hard to tell what they'd look like on a third gen, but they have a nice lip on them and Centerline wheels are good quality.

Ill try to get them up on the rear... They are super lite probably lighter than my CCW's of the same size. Maybe ill try to photo shop them with a black center and see what that looks like.

Re: Centerline Thruster replace or modify

A lot of the classic styling is coming back. Honestly I would rock those. I'd brush the lips and run a graphite black powder coat center and barrel. I think I would try and run without the caps. I think they would still look great caps off with a quality bearing cap showing, ARP wheel studs, and deep shank open lug.

I searched and searched for a set or original Forgeline RS with cap that I restored for my Sport Coupe project. You don't have much to lose since you already own them.

Re: Centerline Thruster replace or modify

That is a great idea i went out there and took the caps off... it doesnt look too bad. I think im committed to just go and have the center powder coated Ill have all of it done so if i run with or without the center cap...ill be covered. I must admit BADNBLK you are my motivation to get off my tail and get my car back together.. I also never realized they made decent looking bearing caps...

You got nothing to lose. You and I both know those wheels are worth a fraction of what you paid for them. If you can spruce them up and make them work for a fraction of what CCW's cost you are way ahead. I appreciate that motivation comment man. Glad I could help lol. Most aftermarket hubs, Baer, Wilwood, Kore3 all use a billet dust cap, but that is a lot of cash for just the look of the dust cap.

Re: Centerline Thruster replace or modify

Found a picture of them on a Camaro. I think they look pretty good. Powder coating the face would definitely give them a cool old school look and I think they probably do look better with the caps off. Nice to see something other than Corvette replica's and Torque Thrust II's.

Re: Centerline Thruster replace or modify

Thank you for the picture. You made up my mind yeap I'll go and have the centers powdercoated and see how it works out. No matter what I already own them I'm pretty sure I wont get any serious money for them. Ill rock them untill can get a set of CCW's that are like my 4th gen. Plus I kind of dig the look and your right atleast its something different.
