LPE 219 or Crane 2032 Compucam w/ Superram?
I currently have a crane compucam model 2032 installed with my superram. Got a good price on it at the time I needed a cam. Using 1.5 roller rockers and seem to have quite abit of power...
Anyone out there know what I would gain from going with the LPE 219 cam. Is there going to be a major difference in power...few economy...etc...also..would replacing my current 1.5's with 1.6's do anything spectacular?
LPE - (.560/.560 lift w/ 1.6's, 219/219 duration @ .050
CRANE - .452/.465 lift w/ 1.5's 214/220, 112 LSA
Any feedback would be appreciated!
Marty

Don't know what you'd gain going from the Crane to the LPE 219. If you get some times, it'll be easier to say. I would think it'd be a decent but not huge amount, mainly b/c of the lift numbers and the fact that the LPE is more aggressive.
As for 1.5 or 1.6 rr's, I'd guess a difference of 5 HP.

I would agree that it will make more power, not sure how much, probobly enough to justify doing it. SR's like single pattern cams (if the heads agree, if your heads have a weak exhaust port, you may want to stick to a split duration), and the 219 offers much more lift, even with 1.5s= .525
I myself am planning on switching from my hotcam to either the LPE 219 or a 224/224 grind, not sure yet.

I'd be interested in purchasing your Crane 2032 if you decide to go with the LPE. I think it would great in a combo I am putting together (350, Vortec Heads, SDPC TPI Base, TES Edelbrock Headers, No Cat)

It does not have a CARB EO#, but it has been known to pass CA smog quite easily.
Oh yeah, I also vote for the 219 cam!
