duration of a control module
so my control module took a crap yesterday, while on the highway cruising.
it was a accel cm that i bought about a year ago off of summit , i had one before that was a autozone duralast cm ,that lasted me two years and the only reason i changed it was becouse i did some ignition upgrades.
im kinda disaponted in accel right now ,
how long do this things usually last?

its the ignition control module... i have had mine on for about 2 yrs and it was a daily driver. i took off a stocker to upgrade it with MSD blaster coil, mallory custom wires, MSD cap and rotor etc.
i would go with a petronix one if my accell decides to take a poop.

To save some possible future grief, did you happen to apply the heatsink paste underneath when you installed the part? I know many (if not all) come with this stuff and it is highly recommeneded, since these parts can get warm. Otherwise, I ran my stock one up until the day I switched over to my carbed setup and had no issues in the 2 years I ran it.
