Felpro 1205 doesnt fit PAtriot 195cc heads...!?!?! AUGH! need help

patriot 195cc aluminum heads... had them since june, i also got the HSR and everyone said that the 1205 would fit the HSR which it does fine but the gaskets dont fit the patriot heads that it will be goin on.!?!?!

its like the runners are off when align the bolt holes and if i align the runners then the bolt holes and the water passeges are off. so what does this mean? do i need the 1206 felpros? or what? im posting pics so i get my point across and so u can see what i mean. also the HSR is the newer style with added material for the 1206 felpro

thanx for all ur help

pics 1 and 2 are the ports of the patriot heads and felpro1205 aligned to bolt holes. the ports are considerbaly larger on the heads than on the HSR. its like the intake ports on the heads are raised or "off" and are higher towards the top of the head vs being in the middle like the felpros require. the last one is a pic of the HSR with felpro 1205 and u can see how it matches up fine and how much larger the head intake runners are. looks like ima be doin some porting to the HSR....

Patriots are the the same as Procomps, they take a felpro 1266 or 1206, THe thicker 1266 usually works best for me

Re: Felpro 1205 doesnt fit PAtriot 195cc heads...!?!?! AUGH! need help

yea i just checked the patriots at skips white and they said the 1206.... in 3 words in tiny lil font!!! augh lol took forever to find it. i asked everyone on here as well before i bought it and they all said 1205!!! thats a waste of 16$$$$.

which would u recomend for my application... the 1206 or the 1266? and is the only differences the thickness?

yeah but with the way those heads are made the 1266 work better as far as intake fitment, there 1/8" thick, if you like the way the intake sits with the 1205 the just get the 1206 it will be ok.

see, i mentioned this in another thread about it, and everything i seen said they use a 1206.

atleast you have a newer HSR that can be easily ported out to 1206

Re: Felpro 1205 doesnt fit PAtriot 195cc heads...!?!?! AUGH! need help

does the thicker gasket affect fitment at all? i would rather the best fitment. ive never seen it together so i wouldnt know what i like better. i just want best performance and reliability. the motor will prob be blown as well so idk if that makes any diff.

orr89Rocz... i think i remember ur post. i asked wat gasket the HSR required to patriot 195cc heads and they all stated 1205 i believe. i rememeber that i had the newer casting and u had the older casting and u had added material for the larger gaskets.

i stated it was 1206 based on skip whites ebay add. it seems to be somewhat inbetween based on your port measurements but as long as you port match the intake, it should make some great power. Cant wait to see the results

You definetly need to get out the grinder. Looks like a big mismatch of ports to me if I'm looking at things correctly. The heads have a lot of meat on the bottom side while the intake manifold has a lot of meat on the top side. That will cause some serious flow problems left uncorrected.

Re: Felpro 1205 doesnt fit PAtriot 195cc heads...!?!?! AUGH! need help

on the heads whent he 1205 is aligned to the runners and not the bolt holes the runners are exactly the same size of the gasket runner hole. but when aligned to the bolt holes the runner opening on the gasket is moved downward so it looks decieving.

the ports on the HSR are a good bit smaller than the 1205 gaskets as well as the ports on the heads. so i will be doing the most porting on the HSR. there is alot of meat on the heads yes, as well as the newer style HSR thank god!
the ports on the heads are actually alil bit bigger than the 1205gasket so i might have to trim the gasket a smidge depending on the 1266 felpro.
