Re: hsr rear leak
yeah a water leak is uncommon at the rear. Oil i can see that happening from not enough rtv, but water is different. The gaskets should seal that port up
This time get felpro 1205's and use alittle layer of RTV on both sides of the gasket around the water ports. Also lay a nice fat bead on both walls of the motor.
I've used right stuff gasket maker on both my motors and never had a problem tho. I like rightstuff better than RTV for the rear walls and water ports

I always order 2 sets of intake gaskets just in case I have a leak and have to re-install the intake manifold.

You do not want to use a bead of RTV around the water ports. Just smear some silicone sealant using your finger tip around the water port on both sides of the gasket. This will seal very nicely. Too much sealant is not a good idea because of the volume of sealant you have to push around when you torque down the intake.
