I need need to upgrade my Intake setup or will this stuff work for what I want?

I am buiding a 383 stroker motor for my 92 z28, its a 96 vortec 350 block. I am gonna use a forged crank, rods, pistons, I already have the vortec intake, stock vortec heads, SLP ported runners, ported plenum. 52 MM throttle body.

I am going to be changing to AFR vortec 190 heads, and a bigger cam with dual pattern cause I plan to spray it also.

I want to make 400-450 horsepower at the wheels. Can my intake, runners, plenum, throttle body handle it or should I change to the holley stealth ram and such? How much can they handle?

SLP is just another variation of a long runner setup which typically make awesome bottom end torque but don't flow enough for revs or all out Hp .
The TPI shootout link is no longer working but all the TPI versions maxed out below 5K whereas the with a MR / HSR ran over 6K

well the main problem you'll have with that intake.. is i dont believe AFR makes a head for the vortec intakes.. i might be wrong.. its been along time since i looked into them... but you wont get much outa a tpi setup as far as hp goes.. ppl can say what they want.. i know from personal experience that the HSR at least with my setup has pulled to 7 grand many many times... without so much as a hesitation or loss of power that i can feel.. unlike tpi or a long runner setup.. once u get to roghly 5000-5500 its like hitting a wall.. they just dont like to pull. Which will really limit a good combo with the afr heads... look at it like your engine needs the air supply of a fire hose.. and u give it a little straw... just choking it off....

Never really thought about it? Think it would work with what I want? Also since I already have a vortec intake and such all I would need from the HSR kit would be the top intake/plenum setup and fuel rail right?

Your on the wrong page.
You already have a computer , TB and wiring

Intake $325

oh lol thanks for the info I was looking at the one that comes with commander 950 and all the intake and regulator stuff.

My other question is I was searching about the ProRam and couldn't figure out if they would work with vortec heads.

If the stealth ram is the only one that will work with vortec heads then won't I be maxing the intake out with the heads and cam before I even spray it?

Re: I need need to upgrade my Intake setup or will this stuff work for what I want?

400-450whp on a 383 is no easy task. I'd skip the vortec thing and just go straight to HSR mildly ported and AFR 195's minimum or Profiler 195's if they are a 1205 port size.
I'd really like to see 210 heads with a 1206 but that will depend if you can port the HSR to 1206 gasket size. Some HSR's can be ported there but old castings cant. Depends on what you get.
