Swapped my stock throttle body to a holly 58mm and now after adjusting tps its idling at 1500 AFTER WARM-UP. cold it idles at 3500. Tps was fine before could it be bad now?

 

I would double check to see if there's a vacuum leak around the throttle body? Failing that, check your TPS voltage with a multimeter.

 

I was battling high idle for 5years with my stock tpi. i thought it was a GEN 7 issue. then i thought it was an intake issue so i put the Stealthram on. still idled high. I put a turbo on and now it idles fine. I changed map sensors and injectors, never took the stealthram off. right before I put the turbo on i disconnected injectors one at a time and realized there was no change in rpm with 3 of them. maybe you have a sticking injector dumping fuel all the time. atleast it's easy to check on a SR. good luck

 

update.... checked for vac leak. nothing... bought new tps CES light still on and still high idle. dont think its my injectors cause i can tap the gas out of gear and idle goes back down.... sometimes. i have no clue guess im going to break down and let a "professional" take a look. cant wait till im done with schooling...

 

chceck IAC, mayby it stuck or is loose and that will casue such problems

Also, did you check the gasket between the upper and lower part of the stealth ram? Mine started leaking in there and idled retard high.

 

can you adjust the idle set screw any lower and then do tha iac and tps setup procedure all over again.just slapping on the tb and driving isnt a good idea.id also check the tb gasket.get a small can of starter fluid or propane and spray around the intake..tb etc. try resetting the iac.other than that..then id blame the tb.good luck

 

after car warms up i can get idle down but not after tapping the gas. idle will go down to a grand which is about right but check engine light is still on... not sure anymore at this point. about to break down and take her to a shop.

 

so your saying you have a check engine light, what code did you pull?

 

never ran the coad. went back to the old throttle body. there is an air foil on the stock throttle bodies that cover the i.a.c. air intake. with that on its pretty much closed. well the holly throttle body i purchased is wide open... bingo. my i.a.c. was stuck wide open but with the stock tb it was blocked off. Problem solved. thanks everyone for your help.
