People running round, LSx style throttle body what are you guys doing for a throttle cable setup? Can a stock TPI cable be made to work or are you running something else? How are you routing it?

I have a cable from a minivan (venture/silhouette). It has the big lug for the LSx TB, the same size square clip as the TPI, and it fits the gas pedal well. Its got a spring in it down by the gas pedal tho, and that doesn't get along nicely with the heavy LS1 return spring, I just haven't gotten around to eliminating it yet. The bushing/grommet where it goes through the firewall is smaller too. Not a big deal, just gotta seal up the hole.
Its just about the perfect length for my application, which puts the throttle body between the carb pad and the water neck.

My single plane with intake elbow puts the throttle body out further than TPI so the stock cable wouldnt work. Plus the LSx TB linkage is on the other side of the TB than it is with TPI TB's.

I ended up buying the matching year GM fbody LS1 cable for my throttle body and putting that one in. Works perfectly. Just had to fab a bracket to mount the cable at the TB since my custom elbow didnt have a connection for it.

 

Never done it myself but Id say use a stock 98-02 fbody cable on a car without traction control??

 

huh, thanks for the link, but they talk about a blue or brown spring, the one that I have has a yellow one...

 

this is what all of us lsx swappers are using, works pretty well. i know your setup's a little different, but this is a good starting point
