Super ram to Single Plane
Im thinking of switching over to single plane from my current superram. 358ci,10:1 compression. 195 eliminator heads, zz409 cam. T trim vortech. Intercooler. Should be aprox 12-14psi. The superram has been welded and ported fully to match the heads. Just curious if it would be worth it. I know it would free up space underr the hood and substantially easier to work on. But im hesitant on driveability and tq loss.
Thanks

I bet you wouldn't see much if any meaningful impact to drivability. Some low-end torque loss, but I'd expect gains from 3-4K and above.
As a heads up (something I didn't think about at least), it probably won't be a 1-to-1 swap. Unless you can find a way to use the TPI throttle body, you'll likely be using an LS style.
That means different TPS and IAC connectors, different throttle cable, cruise control changes, new intake piping, and maybe some stuff I'm forgetting. None of that is unsurmountable, but it is extra work and stuff adds up. At least you don't have an auto - if you had to figure out a TV setup that was geometrically correct, hooked right to the TB, and cleared the hood, I'd probably say it's not worth it.
Also, you'll want to check hood clearance. Might be fine, but the single plane + elbow (or TB hat) is taller than you might expect.

If you decide you want to go single plane, I've got one new (unused) in the box. Would sell it to you much cheaper than Holley's price.

It will make way more power at peak and beyond, probably start seeing it in the 4800 rpm range on up, especially with blower increasing boost with rpm

Minimal difference down low? Im wondering if there blower will help mitigate it. Im assuming single plane will have much better cylinder distribution as well. Im curious on projected power numbers

With a centrifugal, probably not, but I don't know how big the T-trim is. Either way, I doubt that you'll lose that much low end.
Where on earth did you find that elbow?
