Clear Bras
Does anyone out there have one of those clear bras on their ride....I am contemplating getting one on my camaro, but I don't know if they are really practical on third gen's. What did you pay for them? How long does it take to put on? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
The general opinion of everyone who cares about their car is to not put one on. It gradually ruins the paint. Although if you're only going to be using it on long trips, I don't think it'd do much harm.

Amen. The previous owner I obtained my car off of had a bra on there, and it completely ruined the clearcoat....it was flaking off everywhere, and now needs to be redone. But, yeah, long trips sound like a decent idea.

I dont think a clear bra would be very good for a car, apperance wise anyways, all the dirt and leaves and stuff would show through.

I agree, see-thru bras look really good on girls, not cars.
On the other hand, this is the result of 85 mph on Rt.158 in North Carolina. At night, with the big beams on. All of those little flecks are bugs I picked up between Nags Head and Norfolk.
See that big one in the Ram Air scoop? I think that was a locust. I had to scrape 5 of them off the windshield.

Bras are bad, mmkay? For long trips at highway speeds, they tend to move around a little and aggrivate all the dust that gets caught in them. that's like sandpaper after a while. For bugs, I'd get one of those tight mesh nets you see on cars, snap it off when you get to your location.

thats basically what it is, just thick plastic that will protect the paint, and if you cut it just right so the edges of the plastic end up on the seams of your car you wount even know it is there.
