Here is a funny story about how possessed my car is.

On sunday I had to go to the Wal-mart and get some money for blockbuster. and since i was in a big hurry to get home, I parked the car in netural and ran inside to hand them the money. My boss was telling me I had left my sunglasses, them my co worker said, 'Christine your car is rolling."
I looked out side and saw my car was gone. I ran out of blockbuster screaming at my car to stop and waving my arms. "STOP CAR!!!"
A customer jumped in and hit the brakes for me.

It didn't hit anybody car and It actually started to turn. It was going a few mph and had turned the corner. backwards.
After that I pulled the car into a spot and turned it off. Needles to say I am not evering putting my car in netural and getting out. NEVER!!!!!!!

EXACTLY what i was thinking...

 

I put my car in N once by mistake being in a hurry. Went to start it and thought the battery was dead. So I had my Dad take me back to the car to jump it. OOps, stupid me left the car keys at home, had to go back, got them. My Dad went to jump it but nothing. Then he got in the car and pointed out the car was in N.

 

 

rofl...scary when it happens but funny later...had something like that happen in my 85 SC...only I did put it park! something was screwy in the tranny! going in for food and my car was trying to valet itself

 

my friend turned off his car and left it in drive the other day and when we woke up the next day it was gone he didnt know he didnt put it in park and thought someone stole it. he called the cops and reported it stolen then three hours later they called back and told him it rolled into the middle of the street and had gotten towed at 3am. ahahhahhaha waht a dumb ***

 

Your car doesn't start in neutral?

 

My 85 SC has poped out of park on me when I first got it. I had went to wal mart and put it in park and was about to get out and it poped out of gear I was like wholy ****naz, luckly it has never happened again. Every thirdgen is possesed havent you known that?

 

My 88sc did the same thing except i had it in park. See for my first hour class for school i have this construction class where we go build a garage for someone. And we all have to park on the side of the road and DOWNHILL. Well i parked my camaro got out to talk to some friends and a minute latter my car started to roll. So i kinda grabbed hold to the side of the windshield to slow it down and then open the door and stopped it. I came about 6 inches away from hitting this kids new 2001 Toyota Tundra . Scared the $hit outta me

 

LOL, I've never done that, but one time I was coming out of the mall and this lady walked up and asked me if I knew anything about cars. She couldn't get her keys out of the ignition so I reached in and gave them a pull. They still wouldn't come out so I tried to start the car and it wouldn't start. Then I looked down at the console and the car was still in drive. I put in park and gave her the keys.

 

that is some funny ****!!!!!!!!!!!!! you must be talkin about the wal-mart and blockbuster on ramsey st. i live right around the corner from there in county club north. good to see another fayetteville member on the board.

now now...I know girls that can Drive..with capital D but then I know some girls who shouldn't be let near anything with more power than a go kart with a flat tire, come to think of it I know a few guys like that too :P

 

funny i did the same thing. I had gotten back from watching blade two and wasn't feeling two good. So i got home and ran inside.
Next morning my car wouldn't start. charged it all day. still no charge. so i called my friend and she came oer with a friend in his mustage. He tried to jump start it. wouldn't work. he got in the car and said christine it's in drive.
I was as red as a tomato

 

You must have the manual tranny.

My automatic won't let me take the keys out if it is left in drive.

Not sure about neutral though, but I don't see how you would shift to that, and not think about shifting to park.

Ok lets not talk about possessed cars. My car beats all. It could be a little possessed or just FUBAR. My serio changes station by itself. the abd thing to station in different lanugages sometimes other then spanish. When i try and find them I can't. The car won't start sometimes. The car knocks, stalls, and drains the radiator fluid out of the overflow once a week. my car is a work of art. oh this is my 88 not my 86

 

How much time does parking it in neutral actually save?

 

it seems that wal mart lieks to screw with everyones car huh. My i think all 88's were sent to us as punishment for somethin,mine tends to screw me aorund ocne and a while, its a 5 spd, i parked it in my driveway one day after school and put on the parking break,and i thought i elft it in gear,well aparently not,my driveways a small slope and it rolled out and when i went outside,it was damn enar parked perfectly in my neighbors across the street. They were just sittin outside laughin at me.

 

It saves you from pressing the button and about 1/2 a second. LOL.

 

whoops. Hey we all make mistakes. When I was driving my car home from just buying it, I was too excited that I had a camaro and I forgot to look at the fuel gauge. So I died in the middle of a busy intersection. I didnt have the plates and registration for the car with me (due again to excitement) but fortunatly some people helped and one of my g/f's friends recognized me and took me to a gas station for some gas. Oh well. We all learn from those...
