If you take a look from 1970-81 on the second gen
Firebirds were the Mean cars....and Camaros had a weaker appearance like they were the good guys

From 1982 they switched roles and on Thirdgens
Camaros have the angry look and Birds have the soft high tech look ...with the 91-92 Nose they thought that meaness would come back on Birds but they were wrong ...i think they still lokked soft ¡¡

Did this change of appereance GM designerd made on purpose ??
But talkin about taillights ,Birds are far the mean guys here ¡¡¡

You're crazy man. I personally think that the 80 - 81 Z-28 camaros with those rear wheel flares and N90 wheels are the sweetest camaros ever. Those TAs with the wedge front and headlights in the middle are dumb looking. But, all second gens are cool cars, I love that huge nose look.

Zeph, your car always looks mean. Like a badass warrior with lots of scar tissue. When you decide what color you want it to be make sure it's anything but subtle.

It's an LT1 converted to an LT4. And all the parts are still sitting around in the garage. I'll get it all together sometime this year.

Yes that is one mean 2ndgen Camaro,but one problem.It's suppose to have a full bumper with those kind of front turn signals and not split bumpers.

I dunno, if you stick a Ram Air hood on a 3rd Gen Firebird, they suddenly get a hell of a lot meaner. Also, the 4th generations have definitely switched back with Trans Am's being a HELL of a lot meaner looking. 4th Gen Camaros look too much like Sebrings.

Ilike the look of the 3rd gen maro...but when you talk about looking "mean" I have say firebird. The maro is just to box-like. Look at the rear of a GTA then look at the rear of a z-28.....

Oh this post is gonna start some sort of war some where..I can feel it. haha. I gotta say some of the second Gen Camaros did look a bit wussy to me. Buuut there were a few that looked pretty Bad A$$. Now thirdgen. I have to say Camaros with GFX look alot more mean then any 3rd gen bird. I mean birds look good and all and Ilove a good clean one. But that pointy nose, and those head lights gives it that aerodynamic look, not saying they dont look fast but I just think a camaro with the GFX look DAMN mean. Pulls up behind you fog light on, parking lights on at dusk, OH BABY WHY YA GOTTA BE SOOO MEAN!!! Now I wont even get in to 4th gens.....

i used to get the same response with my '78 espirit v8(badley rusted mufler)
the '79 was milder but when i'm in the '86, i can almoste here people say "get the f*** out of the way, its that kid in red TA again".

that reminds me, intimidation is nine/tenths of a wholesome street battle IMO.

but Birds (any class )on 3rd Gen...i mean ..maros are Meaner faced than Birds ...Only on 3rdgen..but on Tails ...Birds wins

 

If I drove a lamborghini....there isnt much out there that would "intimidate" me. I dont care what is under your hood....your car will still look like the grocery getter my grandmother drives. Now if all I ever owned was a pinto....any third gen out there would be "mean" looking and "intimidating".
This thread is pointless...all the camaro owners will chime in and say "The camaro looks way more mean than a bird" , and of course all the firebird owners will flock to the other banner.
We all fall in love with our own cars...isnt that why we come together on the internet to talk about them?

Just about any car can made to look evil and mean; it all depends on the angle of the photo. You could take a dumb-looking '90-something Ford and make it look mean if you stuff the camera right up in its face. For example, the angle of this picture doesn't make my car look mean, it has more of a glum, stupid look:



I've always felt that Camaro was the meaner third-generation F-body... that's why I bought one. In my opinion, 'Birds should maintain the high-tech look -- quiet exhaust, silent engine, whizzing by at 130mph (now that I think about it, they should sound just like those Ford Lightnings going by at the dragstrip). On the other hand, the Camaro should be the mean thing it is with a loud exhaust and lumpy cam. If the roles are switched, it just doesn't match. I really can't picture a Firebird or Trans Am with a loud, mean-sounding exhaust (well I could, but the 'Birds are too refined for that ). If you wanna see something mean...



Now that's scary! I just love the way the fog lights look like little fangs, ready to eat up anything that comes in its way (especially tasty rice).

 

Now this should have be in Vin Diesel's new movie XXX.
