Random question, but the pic of the headlight made me think of it:

Are all 91-92 bird headlight bezels (the black) like that? I know they have to be different from the 85-90 ones since there's no room for the "pontiac logo w/ the different nose... but... those headlights look unusually small there

EDIT: Almost forgot! nice car man That's a clean example of an f-body to be representing us overseas

To answer your question all 91-92 birds have that. I used to own a 91 Firebird and I like the smaller headlights. The reason for this is because the front nose doesn't have the notch for the turn signals like the 82-90. Because of the the headlight bezels had to be tapered for clearance issues. In so doing the headlight had to be smaller too. Notice the 4th gens have the flush hidden lights too and they have smaller lamps. You can really see how the 91-92 influenced the new birds.

later,
bill

i like your car, it's uber clean and someone obviosuly spent some time stripping those rims =D

however i do have one question / concern about that very nice car - are the 91-92 style rear-view mirrors supposed to look like that? i wouldn't really notice except that it really breaks up the flow of the body lines =/

i kind of thought that all 82-92 f-body's had the same teardrop mirrors (and weren't they all also paint matched ) outside the cockpit but it looks like those were pulled off an early 90's ford ranger or even a big van of some sort and forced/rammed into the mounting brackets

anyway let us know, somebody

rear view mirrors...

no not all 91-02's have them, my 91 has paint matched teardrops and i think they might be a worth while investment for you car, to get the back to origional.

anyway 91-92 firebirds/trans ams ROCK

do joo mean 91-92's ?

o and actually i was looking around at some shots on my comp i think that's the only car i've seen those kind of mirrors on.

was it imported by a private owner to austria or was it originally shipped there for sale? maybe it's a euro-spec regulation mirror?

they are the export mirrors. every firebird with the rpo code MAE (= MARKETING AREA, EUROPE) came with these mirrors. i find them fugly and that's why i'm gonna replace them soon. just have to find some us-mirrors at my gm parts store or on ebay and they'll be gone!

I love the car man! Take good care of her. I'm especially fond of the '91-'92 birds myself... Yet I'm not sure why...
