gauges

OK... i think with my ZZ4 and T56 it is not ***** to put three gauge pod on the A pillar... I like that look.

The question is, waht three guages can I get that may actually serve some purpose for me? Anything wrong with the stock gauges that I shoul dget dups or is there something new I could get in there???

What does everyone else have?

My brother in law has one of those big 9,000 tachs in his car. But the thing is, he actually takes it all the way to the red line. He is not big on nos or anything like that, says he want's to get there on all engine. That actually gives me a little respect for him. At least he isn't out there pumpin his honda full of nos. More into just buildin a fast engine. And actually so far he is runnin mid to low 15's in his honda 4 door. Still don't think he want's to race me though. LOL!!!!!

For my Iroc i got the speedo, tach, volt meter, water temp, oil press, and fuel level. Basically the stock ones! Go with an air/fuel ratio and maybe a trans temp. There are not too many other choices! I went with all of those guages because i got a carbon fiber dash panel that i will be putting them in, as well as a dual guage pod. Check out Autometer's web site! They have a lot of cool stuff if you want to fill your interior with guage stuff! good luck

the air fuel ratio wont do you much good unless its hooked to a wideband.......

from another thread i read, one person used the auto meter one and said it was too accurate! He said it would move back and forth all the time, too much! So you do not recommend getting one? What was that wideband you were talking about? How would i hook one up to that? Please keep in mind that the only stupid question is the one not asked, most of the time anyway. Please help if you have the time, thanks!

Those are nice and no where close to rice. The difference is they pretend to be fast with gauges and stickers. We dont have to fool ourselfs. Rice with Tachs Heh:nono: Ever throw an expensive tach in a pile of dog **** just to see how fast it goes? Same concept.

Too accurate? The wideband is exaclty that, its a wideband that can accuratlyt ell you 14.7:1, 12:1 , 15:1 etc...the narrow or swtichign type (used in a/f meters commnonlY) is jut liek the one hooked up to your ecm, it bounces back and forth, and is only accurate at 14.7:1, other then that, it onlyt knows rich or lean of it. The widebands are generally alot more expensive, but you can build one for eseveral hundred dollers.
