yeah....starting another list....saw another movie with thirdgens in it. 8 Mile when eminem is flowin in the parking lot. a clean lookin yellow Iroc Z and a red Camaro. Also spotted a early thirdgen Trans Am that was Black with gold ground effects.. anyone see any new movies with thirdgens in them?

the movie "heat" the scene after the bank robbery where they have the big shooting scene in the street, there is an early sport coupe 82-87, blue in color...

it's somewhere around scenes 28-32 on the "heat" dvd.

Gone In 60 Seconds has a third gen in it. A Firebird if remember right.

 

40 days and 40 nights had 3 or 4 placed perfectly in view....

 

Top Gun had one hidden. It was after Charlie drives through that intersection all wild after Mav. She cuts off an early thirdgen firebird with 2 tone paint job and ground effect stripes.
There are a ton of movies with thirdgens in em but I might have to see this "8-mile" movie if it's at least good at showing some nice cars .

 

Backdraft had one...it was in the scene when kurt russel tells off that guy after he fights a fire...

 

In the movie KUFFS, the bad guy drives a 1991 black Z28, drool.

Chirstan Slater seems to have a following of
thirgens in his movies.

 

Who's Harry Crumb? with John Candy has a 1988+ grey Iroc in it. They actually have a chase scene featuring the car. You should check it out...

 

Steven King's "It" has a red IROC convertable that they drive a lot.

The Big Hit has a yellow Firebird too.

they should have made that sceen a little longer, couse you didnt get to see the camaro that long...

 

What he said. Awesome scene where a thirdgen is actually a part of the movie rather than just randomly sitting there(8 mile), or just getting destroyed (firebird in gone in 60 seconds).

My question is, does this happen on purpose? I mean, sometimes they'll have a thirdgen sitting in the background. However, it will be placed perfectly in the driveway or something.... just seems not so accidental that it is in there, but at the same time it plays no role in the movie, is not driven by any characters and has no effect. Does this mean that the director is a thirdgen enthusiast or something and had ot put one in his/her movie?

some directors are like that.
the guy who did spiderman, also did the evil dead movies, well on the spiderman DVD it says that in every one of his movies there is one certian type of car, a tan 1974 4dr boat POS, it is the car that uncle ben drives, it is also the car that Ash drove in the army of darkness movies. Bruce "ash" cambell is also in spiderman, as the ring anouncer.
some guys like the image of certian cars in the background, others i guess just ask the prop depatment for "3-4 inexpensive youth cars" to go in the background.
