The Stupidity Ensues

Alright, I admit I only have stupid questions to ask, but these are by far the stupidest. I'm asking you guys cuase I'd be embarressed to ask some other person this question face-to-face.
(mods, I don't know which board to put this on ,sorry, move it if you like)

Stupid Question #1
Did 3rd gen Camaros come with a trunk lid release button? Becuase mine doesn't have one, I have to take out the key and manually open up the trunk with the key.

Stupid Question #2
Is it legal or not to drive without a front liscence plate?

Stupid Question #3
How do you shave a door handle?

Stupid Question #4
Once shaved... how do you open the door?

Stupid Question #5
This is the stupidest of them all... bumper stickers. For some odd reason unknown to me, there are bumper stickers on my car. I want them off. They refuse to come off. Should I key them off and risk scratching my car? Should I try sliding a knife under it and pull them off that way?

1.Yes, third gens have a trunk release, and it is right in between the power window controls on mine. Most of them are right around your window controls. If you have manual windows, I don't know if you will have it or not. Have to ask someone with manual windows
2.Depends on which state you are in, some don't require it.
3.Remove door handles, make metal plates to cover hole or some way to cover the door handle hole.
4.A common pop lock like the type on a remote control for your trunk seem to be popular.
5.The bumper stickers. DO NOT TRY AND SCRAPE THEM OFF WITH A KEY!!!!! Peel them off the best you can, then use some goof off or somethin to take the adhesive crap off. Just make sure it doesn't take your paint off with it.

Question 1 ) yes, it was an option
Question 2) Depends on the state
Question 3) Check the tech boards
Question 4) With a door lock actuator
Question 5) There is some gack that you can use to get them off. Check your local automotive store such as Autozone or Advanced Auto

I think that pretty much only the cars with power accessories(windows,locks,etc...)have the power hatch release .my '83 camaro coupe just had the plain vanilla options with no hatch release just used a key. As far as taking stickers off try heating up the sticker with a hairdryer, moving side to side and it may just come right off. Then use 3m Adhesive remover for removing any leftover glue residue. The 3m may take the sticker off without doing the hairdryer bit.

You can put a hatch release into your car. If you find a release and small wiring harness from the j/y or ebay you can install it into your Camaro with no problems. The release bolts right into the manual latchs spot and you then need to bolt on the negative wire to the negative wire below the release. Then plug your wiring harness into the only unused plug under your center console, cut a small rectangular hole in the upper console for the hatch release switch. Connect the switch to the harness and then you need to run the looooonnnnnggg black wire to your hatch release. Make it go under your carpet to the driver rear speaker and you should find a black casing with wires for the rear lights. Run the wire to the back and connect it to the release and your done. I did this to my 85 SC, this is the only power part for my interior. Lol I need to put in power seats and windows.

Just spray the stickers lightly with WD40. The next day they come off quite easily

I have manual windows on my 82 Z28 but I have the electric trunk release..It is in front of where the cloickl used to be in my car and where a cup holder is now. For door handles you can get some mesh and fiberglass and do it that way. Fiberglass is extremly strong if done right. But i would still weld the mesh in, fiberglass it then top layer of filler once your good and strong. For door opening you need poppers. Check out www.autoloc.com

Is this a tried and true method? I have something on my car I need off and don't want to risk messing up the new paint. I put some red bowtie emblems on the ground effects and have since decided it was a mistake.

Try softening up the bumper stickers with a blow dryer, they may peal off easier when they are warm.

DO NOT TRY AND SCRAPE THEM OFF.

I've been going to alot of junk yards lately so I have seen close to 30 Birds and Camaros in the last few days. I have found that very few of them had the power release. And I know for a fact that it was only included after 1985 as an option. Many of the post 1985 cars don't seem to have them either. At least none of the ones I have seen do.

I think that form 82 to 86 the hatch release was available and from 87 to 92 the hatch release with pulldown was available. I perfer the release than having the pulldown cause no matter what if youre not shuting the hatch, someone else will slam it and break the pulldown.

My 86 Camaro SC had a pulldown (and everyone else always tried to slam it shut).
