I was bored today and i decided to modify my mirrors on my car. I'm not done yet, I still need resistors to install it in my car. The passenger mirror is next. What do you guys think? I think I am the first person to do this.

Thats pretty sweet dude. The mirrors are pretty innovative and the brakelight is cool too except for one thing, you have the Bowtie sticker on backwards
the left edge should be leaning back, not forward.

Ok, Ok I fixed the bowtie. That was a dumb mistake.

I like the mirrors. I don't like the bowtie. Even after you turned it around, you didn't really get it very straight. But... the mirrors are definately cool.

They're cool and a safety feature, but I'd rather put turn sigs in my rocker panel GFX or something else. Like u said too many SUVs running around with the mirror lights...

Now you just need the runningboards that extend out at the push of a button and your Navigator conversion will be complete!

J/K I like the mirrors. So, are you going to explain how you did it?

I got the drivers side mirror on my car. Looks good. I dont' have my camera so i'll get pics up soon. I'm starting on the passengers side tonight. I'm thinking of writing a tech article on how to do this. I'm doing burnouts4evers mirrors after i'm finished with mine, i'll take more pics of the process with his.

Here's how I did this-
1) Remove the mirrors from your car.
2) Some how remove the mirror from the plastic backing, buy new ones, or drill the plastic backing with a dremel . The mirror has to be a 2 way mirror so the light will shine through. Which the stock ones are anyway.
3) If you bought new mirrors or removed stock ones, you'll need to cut a Chevron in the plastic backing.
4) Re-install the mirror.
5) Next I cut a sheet of lexan to hold the led's, i also cut it in the shape of a chevron.
6) Drill holes in the lexan to hold the led's
7) Solder the led's, and use the apropriate resistors.
8) Use Epoxy or some sort of glue to secure the lexan with the led's to the plastic backing.
9) Run wires from led through the mirror housing.
10) install mirrors back on car and wire up the mirrors to the turn signals

Thats a quick version of what I did. I used 1000mcd red led's, nine of them each mirror. I'd recommend use a higher mcd led because the 2-way mirror and how it darkens the led.

I hope this helps everyone.

I did not install my spoiler, I bought it that way. I would imagine you would weld in some metal and use body filler to smooth it over, Not sure though

Update- I got everything install on my car and its working fine. The mirrors look really good. The Led bowtie is pretty bright for using only 1000mcd leds. All in all i spent about $15 for 100 leds, and another 10-20 for glue, replacement mirror, resistors, etc. Next I am starting on burnouts4evers mirrors, gauges, and 3rd brake light. I'll take pictures of the process' if anyone wants to see them.

and hey what where thos for anyway? now you gotta come up with something braking like something that tells ppl to stop when your pulling out cuz you cant see the a-s-s hole hauling 55 in a 30 in his pick up truck with are big noised cars!

^^yeah but he built this himself almost two full years ago!!
Not to say that the idea is completely original, because it is not, but he did do it on his own and he did not buy a "kit".

Can't you see the blinkers in your dash go off when you turn the turn signal lever? Is that annoying? Same difference, no?

I ask because in the cars/trucks that have this stock you can not see the red turn signal lights from the drivers seat.

The dash turn signals have two dim lights, not 9 LEDs. And the only annoying thing about them is the stupid buzzer that I scrapped.

Maybe if the LEDs were at an angle it would fix this, if it does.
