Lugs Lugs Lugs

I am looking at lugs and am wondering which "seat" is right for my car. There are two kinds a regular cone seat lug, and a bulge cone seat lug. I have the stock 15" wheels that came on my 88' and I really don't know what seat the stock lame lugs are. I've got two pictures of the different seats from McGard.

I don't want silver chrome and McGard only offers the Bulge Cone Seat in black chrome which in my opinion looks better on my wheels. So does it even matter what seat I choose?

Do you have the gray 5 spoke rims. If you have the gray ones. dont you have a black center cap peice that covers the hub and lugs. And if you have that cover, than you dont see the lugs. And if you dont see the lugs, than they wouldnt look anything like the ones shown. The orig lugs that come woth the car ant chrome, and arnt ment to be seen, so thry are dind of nasty looking.

Anyways I would say use the first ones shown, That is what i used when I got my new wheels, and you accually see the lugs.

OK, so here is my next question.

How does your black plastic center cap stay on. I have center caps kind of like that on my chevy truck. First you put on your lugs, than the center cap, than each lug has and threads on the outside that a black plastic cap screws on to, These "lug caps" have a lip around them, so When you put on all five, they hold in the center cap. So what I'm thinking, is you need the orig. lugs so you can put the "lug caps" on to hold in your canter cap.

I'm I correct on that, I've never owned those wheels before.

The center cap has nothing to do with the lugs. The center cap has prongs that act like springs that hold it into the center. I know some 4th gens have caps that cover the lugs but mine are not like that. The center caps here cover the dust cap that covers the wheel bearings for the front. The center caps on the back just cover an otherwise ugly looking center to the axle shaft.

They both have the same cone seats. Basically there are two styles: Cone and Mag: where the cone style is like what you pictured and the mag style does not have any taper in the end.

The two different names they listed were to differentiate between the two styles of lugnuts- but they both have cone seats. Either one will work.
