Finished engine pics.

While I was waiting for a friend to come over and weld up my exhaust and LCA relocation brackets so I can drive the car I took some pics of the engine. Can't wait to have it on the road, it's been a 5 month project. So how does it look?

I know, I tried to clean them but that was the best I could get. Does any one know a good place to get them and how much they cost?

I love the look of that intake. I bought the coolant tank for my 90 off ebay for 18.00 .

Nice looking motor! I have a similar setup. I'm curious to see how much power you put to the wheels. The 276 is an awesome cam!

Here's mine:

JR

I got new plastic tanks. Brown & Brown, should be less then 30$ for everything, new coolant tank, new washer fluid tank, and caps.

I only bought the coolant tank and cap, I am not going to run wipers as the wiper motor looks real sh_tty next to the Superram, I also mounted my ignition where the washer fluid tank sat. The tank is smaller though, pic shows.

Otherwise it looks great

BTW: The 383 is in, just got to finish up the acessories.

So am I. It will be interesting to see if the Pro Toplines are as good as they seem. So when are you going to get yours on a dyno?

Sweet. When do you expect to be on the road? I just have to get a friend to come over and weld up my exhaust and suspension parts, and then I am on the road. Hopefully I won't have to deal with emissions until November. That coolant tank looks great, I am definitely going to swing by and pick one up. I was expecting them to be pretty expensive, since prices for most parts from GM dealerships are outrageous.

Dtich em both, aluminum catch can, and just get rid of the wiper fluid bottle.

Yep, I have the car on the road. Don't have the speedo hooked up yet. I was working on that Sunday night but ran out of the wiring I was using, so that will have to wait for this weekend. I posted an update in the TPI forum under the post "My new engine, Pics" but I guess no one is reading that post due to the length.

Engine is running great. The cam has more low end power than I though it would, completely drivable, no low vacuum problems (brakes/power steering).

I do have some bugs to work out though. I think me not having the speedo hooked up is causing one of my problems. Some times when I am driving and engine brake to slow down I get an SES light. Then if I let the car come to an idle it will die. I also have an oil leak that needs to be tracked down. I think I have a dead cat converter too. When I was putting my exhaust back on I could hear some rattling in it when I shook it. Sounded like something was kind of just rolling around in there. Would a dead cat quiet the car down, I think my old engine was louder. So I will probably end up replacing it.

I still have to rewire my SGI-5 to get my VSS working (it's a pain in the as$ !!)

You could just do what I did and burn a chip with the VSS diagnostics turned off and this will correct the SES light and the car dieing at idle.

Do you have custom programming? If so, do you do your own like me, or do you outsource that?

I told you guys (in Mike Crew's post) that the XR276HR-12 is badass!! It's a nasty little cam that is VERY streetable!
