Looks good. I've been known to cruise without a hood before too

Is that a GTAutoAccess. wing? can you post more pics please? I'm thinking about one.

Hey deadbird,

At least you can garage yours, mines outside all the time.

Car is looking real nice man.

Indeed; that's a slick modification, and a cool alternative to shaved door handles, you still get the flush(er) look.

I should have seen that one comming..
i don't think he owns a hood lol , every picture i've ever seen is without
Haha.. .. there's always one..
I do own a hood though.. really.. see ?...

Thanks for the comments guys
MC & tpiroc... the thing I like the most about them.. no clip to break & no rattles when you shut the door!
Bill... I took the pictures in front of Stockewell's soccer fields since I can't really venture out on highly public streets w/the car. Was way to nice out to leave the car in the garage though.
Nasty... my wing came from ramairhoods which was disppointing in the quality department to say the least. You can check my post about it here...

hey deadbird, do you notice a difference in engine temp w/o a hood? id expect it would shave a few degrees to have all that air getting to it.

wouldnt reccomend it for long hauls though

Nah, no cops said a word to me when I drove around after my engine swap. I actually dropped the engine in, went straight to get an emission test, then to the tag office to get my tags. No one said anything about it. Got a few stares and chuckles though.

Call the local police department and ask the question. My friend has gotten a ticket for it, so theirs no way to be sure unless you talk to the people who can give you the ticket.

The problem is that there is a ticket for everything. There may not be one for "Driving with no hood", but I'm sure if the cops wanted to be ******, they could find something else to categorize it under.

amen to that. if a cop really wanted to ticket you he can always find a way. my buddy once got pulled over in his 85 z28 and what started out as a turn signal ticket turned into reckless driving charges. he eventually got them dropped but still, you never know what the cops will try to pull on you. especially in our cars, when they see guys in their 20s-30s driving around with the tops down and the exhaust bellowing, its like open season.

I'll tell you... if I ever put it back on Seriously though, I'm sure it helps but, I have a JET fan switch that comes on at 200° and off at 185° with a 180° t-stat so basically, once the fan reaches turn on temps, it stays on untill the engine is turned off (not a feature I really like).
is it illegal to drive without a hood?
hood, plates, registration, insurance...
What are your plans for the hood?
One day I vow to actually paint it and put it on

Your welcome bud... that's why they are there

Now, I just need to finish the other side, lights, interior, etc., etc., etc.... it never ends.

I got a ticket once for "Illegal Lane Use" cop said I was in the left lane for too long??. So you are right, if they wanna give you a ticket they will DEFINETLY find a reason.

Yup, thats the truth... My dad, in his '73 Z/28, once got a speeding ticket IN HIS DRIVEWAY!!!

He got it because the cops at the other end of the street (from were he turned onto to get on the street his house was on) said he "gunned it down the street" which he didn't, and since it was only about 40ft from the turn to the house, he couldn't possibly have been speeding.

The ticket was dropped to only court fees, but just shows that they can do whatever they want when they get creative.

For your enjoyment....
