To measure and count the backspacing and the thickness of spacer???
hi,
I saw the web site which have a turbo IROC teach people to count the backspacing and the thickness of the spacer, it's like this,
Rim Width / 2 = Centerline
Centerline + Offset + Rim Lip (about 0.25") = Backspacing
backspacing - maximum backspacing = thickness of spacer
maximum backspacing : front 5, rear 5.85
Ex: Corvette ZR1 rims (17x9.5", 50mm Offset)
9.5" / 2 + 50mm / 25.4 Offset + 0.25" = 6.97"
6.97" - 5" = 1.97" ( front spacer )
6.97" - 5.85" = 1.12" ( rear spacer )
The rim I got is 8.5J, 15mm offset and I found that I will need 0.09 inch spacer in the front (should I say no spacer is needed), -0.76 spacer in the rear!!!!
The 0.09 spacer may no enough to solve my problem , what should I do to the -0.76 spacer(the rear wheel should be no problem)?

that's what I would assume. but I'm no wheel expert.
I've got a question for you though, since you live overseas. Do you see many SSR mesh wheels over there? I know they sell them in Japan. Just curious. I would love to have a set of them in 17".

what is SSR mesh wheel ?? maybe you can show me a picture or something! I think many of the rim are made in Taiwan, I believe included 3gen's but they only go export so I can not find them, we have a lot of Japan and Euro rim here in very cheap price, like Spoon, AC, BBS.....they are copy version, the Japan and Europe car are popular here, they hate American's, so I always have problem to upgrad the rim......
How cheap is it : 17's start from US90/wheel, 18's start from US147/whee
I got myself a set of used rims, they are 18's BMW AC II style copy version, all for US235....

hi, 19doug90
My English is not that good so may not know exactly what you said, but I guess that you will consider to buy rim from Taiwan after seeing the price??
Those rim are fine, compare to the US and Euro made rim, the material (aluminum?) we use are not as good as they do, it response on the price, otherwise they are good, check the link below to see some of them.

BTW, there is no one for 3gen!!!, they are BMW, Benz, Japan's, VW.....etc

no usually ordering things from over seas doesnt work because the shipping costs are too high. I could probably get a nice very good condition set of used rims around here for a similar price but the ones i want are custom wheels and are also very expensive because i want the in 18"X9.5" here is a picture for you

actully it could be not so expensive if they don't ship thru express company, I use in the trade business, they should ship by ship!!! Slower but much cheaper.
Alway love US style car and stufff, that is why I am here, it is shame the Taiwan people don't like US car, but I wish GM can improve the QC and beat the Japan ****!!
Nice rim, go 18's if you can.
