I am so glad to see how nice its coming along. I remember your post right after you wrecked it. I loved how the car looked before and by the looks of it your making it look even better.

I'm trying. I should have some preliminary paint pictures tonight or tomorrow. The body shop is really good about keeping me updated.

Thats awesome man. Most people would have just sold the car and junked it. Especially being a uni-body car with a bent frame.
Congrats to you and your project, I can't wait to see it after its finished.

it's been a fun ride - this project of mine. This is a lesson to all those who think a bent frame is the end of a thirdgen. All you need is a good bodyman with a framepuller.
Anybody in the Southern USA - I recommend Payne & Sons bodyshop. Bubba Payne is the absolute biggest F-body fan ever. He took a 1971 Trans Am, molded in a 1977 Trans Am T-Top roof (because no 1971 came with t-tops), and has about 15 grand invested in the engine (455 SD). You couldn't ask for a better guy.

Looks like its coming along quite well, I'm glad to see you're fixing it and not just tossing it into the junkyard.

Looks like its coming along nicely there. Glad you've got the time/money to undertake such a project.
My own car is giving me fits. Course, I'd have a working transmission if that damned governor cover hadn't started leaking on the highway. I lost all my fluid and fried the band. :*(
Its an easy fix, but I'm tired of band-aids. I'm just rebuilding the entire freaking tranny. Maybe I should make a tech article about it.

the red X's should be fixed by tomorrow. The university server is down.
However, here's one from cardomain.

He should be sending me some better pictures today. I've got to wait on the ones with the spoiler though, as Showcars Bodyparts gave me one with bad gelcoat.

for those of you who would believe me - all the work on the frame, the paint, and other bodywork (as in not including the cost of the hood), is costing my $3500. That just happens to be the amount the lousy insurance gave me for the car. Amazing, isn't it

I truly prefer the mean look of a camaro over the stylish look of a bird but man thats one sweet looking car no matter how I see it. that hood on there just makes it look perfect and the color sets it all off. Extremely nice work and keep it up.

Looks great man. Makes me wish I had got my old maro I wrecked rebuilt. Especially cause the price you paid is exactly what my insurance woulda gave me minus what they wanted for me to buy the car back. I really wanted to keep it but my decided I didnt want a rebuild title (not that i ever woulda sold it...so dont ask me why) but ive got a nicer one now anyways!

I'm sure glad you stuck it out, I thought I'd never see this thirdgen up and running again when I first saw the wreck pics, but it's looking great. And the price tag is equally amazing...

sweeeeeet job! but remember you said the key word....
the body man is a fan of those cars, anyone who respects them can do great work as he sure has done!
The places around here wouldnt even attempt to fix a 3rd gen. in half that cond. they dont have the care or experience, I wish I lived somewhere where theres a real body shop

I'll be down for Thanksgiving weekend. If I don't have the car by then - I'll be driving to the shop to look at it. Sound good 86WS6?
"Birds back from the dead" would be a good name for our TAs.
