fat rear tires and rubbing

i definately would like some wider rear tires then the stock 215 65 15's

and have seen ppl run 275s on here and i was thinkin of some bf goodrich radial tas in 265 or 275 50 15s

but was wondering on my car i ran my hand behnd my tire between the tire and rear tie well and could only fit my hand really so im thinkin theres like an inch of clearance at most.
would 265 or 275s clear w/o rubbing?

also as the whats called scrub happens?
scrub is tire movin up and down would it rub?

on the inside in the tire well is were im worried about but also the fender lip which im sure shouldnt rub.

since the o.d. on the 215 65 are like 26 inches and the 175s and 265s are shorter then that.

so to thoose of u w/ 15 inch wheels and wider then 215s what size u got and do they rub?
in the rear only mainly.

im goin to go w/ 215 60s or lil wider in front but not much to avoid the rubbin n junk.

also anyone have probs gettin stickers w/ that size 265 or 275?

i know they dont hang out over the upper lip or nothin but they do stick out quite a bit fomr the 1/4s on bottom.
and in wv we have them fron windsheild stickers and inspections no smog junk but u cant have tires out past body or wont pass.
anyone have probs there as well as rubbin?
w/ no spacers and 15x7 or 15 x8 wheels?

If you are using the stock 15 x 7 wheels, I don't think you find anything that fits wider than 225/60/15.

they are stock 15 7 or 15 8s not sure i dont see were the wheel width would matter tho because we have an 8 inch or 7 inch wide wheel on a fullsize w/ a 265 on it.

im not able to afford big wide wheels which woudl come out past the body i just want the fatter tire even if it comes off the rim and kinda ballons out so to speak long as it wont rub my inner well.

on my stock iroc rims (16x8) i was running 295/60/16 bfgs...and they didnt rub except when i honked on the gas...then the side wall would rub the fender lip...the tire also didnt fit properly because 295 require a 9.5-10 inch rim to fit properly...look into it if you want a bigger tire

yea im lookin for like 265s or 275s in bfgs for mine but w/ the 8 or 7 inch rim because i know any bigger i definatly think would rub or not work right.

thats why i was worried about the 265 and 275s fraid theyd rub or something.

275/60R15 on the TA, on stock 15x8" wheels, never had it rub with the eibach pro kit springs in the rear.

My kit was only about 1.25" in the rear. You could probably go lower with a 275/50, i went with a 275/60 for avaliability reasons.

these tires are way too wide for that rim, that's a fact and not an opinion

These rims are only .5" narrower than Goodriches recommendation so I guess that must be an opinion and you know what they say about opinions LOL!

alright man awesome looks like me.
thanks for the help all and the pics.

also tire width and rim width doesnt matter a huge lot unless u got a 20 inch wide tire on a 7 inch rimitll just balloon out a lil on sides.or get wider as it goes up prety much but now puttin some 195s or something on a 10 inch rim is a big no no thoose are hard to do and look aweful.
know a guy done that on a 10 inch cragar put lil factory size tire on it gotta have the fat ones for that.
