Ever let someone else drive while you watched from outside the car?
I came to see my wife at work just before she left last night and I wanted to hear my exhaust so I asked her to drive it home.
I had never seen my Camaro drive down the road w/o me in it before. It was about 11pm so the streets were empty. She was launching it off the lights it was awesome. Even at speed, she'd floor it and you could see the nose angle up and the rear end sink slightly and then it would just take off.
It was great. Thought I'd share.

i think ive seen it about once, when my dad and a friend went for a ride in the car so they could identify a noise , which was loud gears , damn richmond, but thats the only time, I dont let many people drive me car . i think about 3 other people.
I let a good buddy of mine "get a feel " of my beast, and in return he let me drive his camaro. I wanted to race my own car
Funny thing is he won, but beat his own car!
Damn I love my car.DUECE

I have let ONE person drive my car from the outside. That isn't to say that there aren't more people I would trust, just that I always ride with them.
I've let 9d1burd drive my GTA, and would not hesitate to let him drive it by himself if he asked.
Would I let my mother, or sisters drive it? Hell no. I'd let my dad, but he has no desire to drive it.

I have only let me mom, dad, wife, and a friend drive my car besides myself.
My car right now has trouble going straight so its more of a hazard to others than anything.

I let my husband drive my car once, and that was the day we went to look at it before buying it.
He never let me drive his '77 Camaro, so fair's fair, right? ;-)
I'm very paranoid about letting anyone drive my car. I get the same case of nerves seeing someone else in my driver's seat as I used to get when my son was a newborn I dropped him off with a babysitter for the first time. It's silly, but I can't help it!

I let my sis drive my car around while I followed her in my other car. Then I realized "Wow, my car is pretty damn loud"
Then she broke my fan switch in the car-lol

Twice... once when my cousin wanted to do a burnout, and once when I followed him home (he was driving it) so I could hear the exhaust.

I let my dad drive my '00 TA when I first got it. As he was flooring it, he told me the story of how he accidentaly trenched though 3 yards in a 409.
That ones been sold. He has not (and will not) drive this one.
I bought my 91 vert from my girlfriends dad. I wish she'd let me watch her drive it, but I think she's still pissed about the fact that I bought her favorite ride.:lala:

My mom drove my car and d*** she drives pretty good she had it goin sideways i thought it was funny. My dad let me drive his delco/mongoose Z06 so it was a fair trade. my sister drove my car once but when i got it back empty I started questioning myself why i'd let her drive it knowing she has a lead foot. The last one was a good friend of mine he has a 96 trans am that runs 13's so once agian a fair trade.

Anyways... I let my friend drive my RS one day so he could take it to his class and fix my brakes (I was too lazy to work on the RS) and he came back with a speeding ticket
(He thinks its fast

It's a supreme pleasure of only the highest caliber to watch my car drive by. It's such a beautiful thing to behold. Time slows down, the sounds of the world dim down like an empty vaccum as leaves fly away from the car's path, somewhere in the background a fiery orchestra plays fervently....so, yeah, I'd definitely liken it to a pleasurable encounter with the opposite sex.

just thought id add in my "letting someone else drive my car" experience.
so my 91 Z is my pride and joy and never ending project. me and some buddies met up in an abandoned parkinglot with some damn good looking ladies. the plan was to go off roadin in some old trucks we bought for $100 each but instead we had a little burnout competition my 91Z 350, a 87 T/A 305, 03 GrandAm, 96 jeep cheerokee. well it was all good until one of my friends let one of the girls burnout in his car and then after saying that my car was awesome to burn out in...4.10s 260RWP ya its not bad.
so this one girl Amy sat in my drivers seat and was like "lets go for a ride" and would not stop saying that so i decided to give her the key and rode shotgun for the 1st time. best female driver ive seen but with a lead foot and cuttin the wheel to the left for about 1 minute non stop...my baby overheated up the @$$. radiator pressure relief valve released so much steam that i had to use an entire bottle to fill the radiator up to normal. i got some "sympathy" after she had done that so i guess it wasnt all that bad. except for the few seconds i thought she fried some piston rings seeing tons of smoke (steam) come from under the hood.

Only my girlfriend and fruityone have ever driven my car.
Michelle(GF) used to drive it all the time, then the car got hit parked at her work, so now she prefers not too
And the only person i would trust is bill(fruityone) We work on each others cars almost every week, so i know he would take care of mine.

The Les Schwab (tire place) guy had to "test drive it" when I had an odd noise I was trying to diagnose (thought it was the rear brakes, but the e-brake cable was sagging on the driveline). I know everyone there basically, so I trusted the guy, but it was hard to see the big grubby Schwab guy pile in, and take off. It was so bad *** seeing my car cruise down the road, that hearing it and watching it made it all better

i have only let one person drive my formula and that was my gf, she had to get to the bank, and i was in the middle of fixing her car, to bad she coudlnt drive a stick or should could have taken my pos truck, but she knows how much i love the car so she would never do anything to it, intentionally anyways. she is a good driver and i trusted her.
when i had my 71 cutlass i let my friend drive it when wefirst got out licenses and first thing he did was roast the tires leaving my house and hit 60 down my side street like ntohing
, i told him to pull the car over, he hasn't got the privilage to drive my car since, and probably wont again

Just last weekend my "soon to be" wife drove my T.A. for the first time. She took off out of the BMW car lot we were in (looking for a daily driver so that I can take the T.A. off of the road) and romped on it pretty good. I knew the car was in capable hands since she drives a modified '00 Mustang GT that we got for her new (faster than the T.A.) She complimented me by saying "that little 305 doesn't do to bad... Can I drive it home?". It was fun to see and hear the fairly stock cammed 305 TPI run it up a bit. Now I can't wait to get the 305 LT1 project put in there, then have her drive it so that I can hear it again!!!

I've let my dad drive it to the GM dealer to get stuff done when I'm busy with school, down the street a couple times for me to watch too. I've let 3 friends drive my car around the school parkinglot. That's about it.

when my friend finally got the kid to pull it over and come back he grabbed the kid outta the car and told him that he would never ever let him near his car again and almost beat the crap out of him like he beat the crap outta his roc. needless to say that kid never even got a ride home in it again. Even as pissed as he was the only thing that my friend enjoyed about seeing that happen to his car was seeing it in action and realizing how awsome it sounded and looked.
i only got to drive the car once, and it was before i got my license
.... shhh dont tell anyone. my friend trusted me and knew that i would not beat the crap outta his car because i knew how much he loved it. I think that he is the one that got me hooked on thirdgens to begin with. I loved that first ride that i took in the rock and wanted a ttops car eversince and finally got one last fall. i cant remember what his sn was on this forum but he used to come around here quite a bit, but since he had to sell the roc he hasn't been on here.i hate stupid people who just like to abuse others toys, makes me sick how people cna't appreciate and respect what others have worked hard for.
