You don't see too many cars like that, in fact I have never seen a car with that combination.

orange/black...black/orange...
i've always wanted to do that color. just an idea....through some gold pearl on the orange as it will really make the color sparkle....go with a metallic black (it's out there) for the stripes. truly outstanding.
i'll show you the difference quickly between standard orange or what your talking and the same with pearl.
here is your standard huggar orange.

here is the color with a gold pearl.......you wouldn't even need stripes and you would have possible sponsorship and front page magazine coverage just waiting for you if the car is done right.
truly outstanding and it isn't expensive....

are you talking the pearl orange?
well gold pearl accents the orange the best....you might try a small application with orange layed out and your black stripes of some sort and applying gold over it both however i think it may look a bit out of touch.
to be honest what i would do, this is speaking purley from my own personal favorite for wanting to do my own car in that color.
i would go with "lamborghini orange" which if your painter isn't into custom paint that's very close to what were talking about. if they can custom paint then choose a nice orange of your choice...the brighter the better....and have just about any gold pearl put over it.
once this is done and your getting ready for clear i would do one of two things with the first mandatory.
1. layout your stripe design with tape or however
2. either spray the stripes in pearl or...
3. use an extra layer of clear for the stripes to have a ghost effect.
imagine something like this under your paint with an affordable orange/gold pearl job....

how about for the gold effects do what my neighbor done on his truck do yur basecoat in orange then for yur clear buy some gold metal flakes like what youd need for redoing yur old bass boat or soemthing they are just like a bag of glitter and he mixed them in his clear and sprayed it its even better then pearl.

Why would someone go through all that work of masking and designing a strip just to have it look like its not really there. Ghost stripes only show if your standing right over the car.
because it's classy and custom...not to mention *** for bid they want to sell the car the resale will be that much easier. most of the general public do not like stripes contrary to what those believe and going a step further to mimic heritage or similar stripe designs only devalues the car that much more when it isn't real. another standing idea is future modifications to the car, magazine coverage as well as winning show placing helps with free goodies. typically magazines do not like to photograph cars with plain paint and stripes, infact most ask that you don't have stripes unless its something unique.
however it isn't the point, the point is to paint the car the way you want to as it's your car. my ideas were strictly that, just another opinion. i don't like things that shout out at you, i'd rather see subtle yet custom pieces.
as for gold flake.....you could go that route i suppose but then the car would look like a bass boat, that or a lowrider. take your pic.
here is a pic of heavier metal flake.....see the larger sparkles that are somewhat spread out over the hood? imagine doing a whole car like this as it is very blinding. while many thirdgens have stripes very few have subtle ghost designs. you go with something like that and it's going to be very hard not to walk away with a absolutely stunning car.
