This is my 89 RS daily driver. The paint is the original, those are not vinal stripes they are painted on . The wheels are also stock 15x7 RS/Z28 wheels with that brown on them stock and the stock clear coat over them. I have never seen another thirdgen like this. At first I hated it but now it is growning on me it is hard core 80's:hail:

There have been all kinds of strange stripe patterns on these cars. Can't say I've ever seen that one though; keep it!

 

People did all sorts of different things to these cars in the 80's.

I would have to say i am not sure if that is a factory job or not.

I cant imagine the factory painting them on, i would assume they would use decals.

I am not sure if i like it or not, but it is def. something different.

 

My '83 SC had the same font style decals that the 80-81 Z28s had except it had CAMARO on the sides instead of Z28.I had a picture but it came out way too dark to see the words on the sides.

 

I know they are original from the dealership because I bought the car from the original owner and she said she bought it brand new and it looked like that. She was telling me that it was real nice when it was new and sitting in the showroom, but now it is faded. I was thinking that maybe the dealer ordered a "blank" white car and then got their body shop to stripe it for a promotional vehicle. Onw thing that gets me is the wheels. They are were painted on the bare aluminum then cleared over the brown just like a factory paint job. I don't know if you can tell but the paint is real faded. I was going to paint the car and I had thought about changing the color to a solid color, but I am liking the stripes and I think I might just redo them, since the only other option is to paint the car all white. The interior is Med. Beechwood. Let me see if I can find a pic...

i really like the stripe pattern just dont like the colour, id get it redone in blue or something if i was going to repaint it

 

Has anyone seen a bronze color on a bird? I saw a mid 80's T/A with a bronze color it looked really good. Havent seen anyone on here with that color.

 

Believe it or not this car used to be a five speed. That shifter and brake pedal is from my Iroc. Can't let a nice shifter go to waste.

Yeah hard core 80's. I like to jam my Emotion 98.3 CD from GTA Vice city while I am driving. I play the CD via a portable CD player into the factory cassette player, LOL.

 

This paint scheme is growing on me too. You should definitely keep it, just get it repainted.

 

that paint scheme looks like the one on Agood2.8's car....
