Should I get a set of these wheel plates?

Whenever I drive my car (which isn't often) all I get is a bunch of brake dust on my wheels. I hate that stuff. One solution I thought about is getting a set of these wheel plates, checke'm out here: http://www.ridetech.com/productinfo/wheelplates.asp

I figured black would look really good....what does everyone think about these? Should I get a set? My brakes aren't anything special....and they wouldn't hurt anything....thanks for the opinions guys

Im not really sure if I like them or not. I saw them on an Impala today and it didn't look that good. They were polished though, maybe black would look better?

I had those behind my stock 20 spoke Formula wheels, it really helped keep em clean, i got tired of scrubbing in all those spokes on the stockers. i think black would be fine, you really wouldn't see em.

Just replace your dusting pads with ones that don't. I have PF z-rated pads and no brake dust problems.

I agree with the last 2 posts, it's the pad compound that causes all the nasty brake dust. Also, those discs will cause your brakes to run very hot if you ever used them seriously.

...do what you want.

I purchased a set from another company, can't remember the brand, but they are specific for the wheel and vehicle. they were the best $40 I ever spent. hardly nticeable under the stock 16" wheel, and they are vented.

well, I went to autozone....and I asked them about it. They said that "Cermaic Coated Brake Pads" will not cause any brake dust. Does anyone know if these kind of brake pads (ceramic) will eat the rotors up?..or cause damage to something else?

Get ceramics they best you can get for dustless brakes. There the kind you find on Porche and Ferrari.

They will not eat the rotor up as bad as any conventional brake pad does. Thats why there is virtually no dust coming from them. The only type of brake that will eat the rotor real bad are the semi-metallic and metallic. Plus they are quite as hell no niose what so ever like some make when thier new.

The set of pads would probably run you about $36 - $44 with a 2 year warranty. Might be a little more since you have a Z I got a RS same year and mine cost $36.
The warranty is great if you the pads aren't worn down to the metal they should take them back with in the 2 years and replace them for free. So you can atleast get 2 sets for the one price, just remember when the warranty expires. duece

I wax my wheels. And I can practically blow the brake dust off them.

thanks alot man, I'll go to autozone and check it out. I polish my wheels constantly....and the break dust just seems to scratch the surface when I wipe them off. The ceramic coated pads should do the trick

Put that $100 towards a nice Bear Brake upgrade, and you'll forget about trying to hide them....

Leave them as is.....
