The Camaro has finally been painted and buffed! Now I have to reassemble the damn thing! Tell me what you think.

Thanks, they were a pain in the *** to layout. They are as close to factory looking heritage stripes as I could do without looking crappy due to the width of the cowl hood and how the originals would layout.

they are just solid black stripes right? in one of the pics they look a little red...probably just me seeing things... but it looks wonderful! blackout taillights would look great!

Yeah they are just GM black stripes. I wanted blackouts for it but I like the look of the taillights too much to hide them.

The stripes were the worst part to do properly. I made the painter lay them out about 4 times. Every time he had to pull up the masking job and start over! They were pissed! I finally had a good friend who works at the shop lay them out. It took him 4 hours but they are 20 times better than the painters could lay out!

I am friends with just about everyone at the body shop including the manager so I got more than just a discount. Paint and labor cost me $750!!!!! Of course I had to do all disassembly, prep sanding, reassembly, and my friend did all the wet sanding afterward before buffing it. I did have to buy a new bumper cover, lower front GFX, cowl hood, emblems, weather stripping, hatch struts, and a few other minor things (all GM). Igot those at dealer cost too! I still have about $2500 total, but the paint job full price would be $3500 and no parts at all. I got a good deal thats for sure!

Very Nice.......

Very NICE looking car. The stripes are really cool.

I wanted to know if you used the 2" cowl induction steel hood by Goodmark? I want to buy one next month for my Camaro, after I get back from vacation. How do you like it?

Thanks,

Steve
