Clear Cut Emblems (No Decals)

My buddy's father owns a trophy shop. He has this lazer cuter for plastic and engraveing. I got the idea to do the Clear Emblems that i read about in Tech Section. We scaned the OEM one in and my buddy worked his magic and got it set to engrave and cut. We reversed in graved it to give it a smooth front. This is a smaller version b/c we used scrapes but i will soon be getting the correct size to put on my Roc. Those will have clear letters and a black background. Heres my sample. The Cracks are from using the wrong cleaner on the open acyrlic plastic.

You should put surface mount LEDs on the corners or something and make it glow.

keep it up

I dont know if i will be selling sets. Ill have to first find out how much the plastic we used costs b/c my buddy didnt charge me. I made these to look just lk the OEM emblems just clear. If some one would want an IROCZ or RS i would need a scan of those. I wouldnt mind selling them but it isnt my call b/c i dont own the shop. Ill ask and get quotes to anyone that wants a set of rockers.

I could do red and black or basicaly any colors but they wouldnt be clear or reverse engraved they would be engraved on the front so they wouldnt be smooth on the front like those.

Streetfire it was a simple mistake because i must of been typing when he posted and it didnt refresh. it was a mistake the posts are lk 3min between. Also idk know y you would be willing to pay $40 for a set of camaro emblems when you own a sunfire. and thats it. I am very pleased and astounded at the job Exzion did and how quick he had them to me. I would really lk to see him make a IROC-Z set.

So now i'm lost.... Is $40 the going price for these or what... cause i'd Definately purchase a set of RS for that price. (i'm assuming that would be 2, one left, one right)

What Exzion would need is a scan of 1 (RS, IROC-Z) emblem off of either side to do the art work of off. The scan needs to be 600 dpi and unaltered in sizeing. Email them to me.

Like olong said I would need a 600 dpi scan. I would like it to be BLACK AND WHITE
also very important it need to be scaned at full scale it will not work if it is scaled at all. If you are going to scan one take the "pins" on the back and poke them through a piece of paper then scan them that cuts down on the black around the image and i need that outer edge so that would be a huge help. Thanks

Will i **** off GM?

If i am to seriously sell these emblems that look just lk the OEM ones, with correct lettering and all, the only diff will be that they r clear. Can or Will GM come after me or my partern? I really would lk to know.

odds are very very very slim to none.

for example, them coming after you for a custom one in their lettering (like what i asked for) is zero...

since you arnt making them lose any money, and you arnt making exact repos of their logo, then its nothing to them... look at all the knock off stuff on the market right now.

I can do SS ones but that will require 1 scan of an RS one and one scan of an SS one so i can get the text and sizing. Please read my earlyer instructions for scaning them.

The one flaw in this "plan" is that i need scans of all of the emblems to get the correct sizeing and lettering for the OEM ones. And about the LS1 emblems i would have to do the art work then email it to you and have you approve the art work before i run them. Also the plastic i use is around 1/16 thick. For o_longs i "superglued" another custom piece i cut on the back to pad them out so he could get some led's behind them. But i will not be able to do this on anyone elses so you will need to figure out how to pad them out if you so desire.

About those stock z28 replacement emblems. I am alittle confused about what exactly you what. Do you want the emblems clear like olong's but a diffrent backround color than Black?
