Iroc's seem to look best bone friggen stock...
Irocs have a lot more accenting than most thirdgens. Pinstripes, wheel accents, louvered hoods, door decals....
....like a recipe for coolness, hehe..

Just curious, does anyone know of anyone who has painted an IROC a non-stock color and replaced all of the oem decals and emblems to oem spec? Just wondering if there are anymore out there as I do not see too many, if at all on the internet. If anyone would want to post a pic of mine I could email them to you for reference. GM Dark Blue Met with oem 86 silver decals/emblems. thanks

...and I think an OE style with a non OE color is a killer idea. I've thought about doing something like that myself. I'm personally not a fan of polo green, but that would make a nice Iroc, especially with some gold Irocs and accents with Medium beechwood interior. Maybe pewter? Purple?
I've honestly wanted to do an old school metallic brown.

Thanks Abubaca. Pics sent. The pics are rather bad and more are to follow in the spring once I get the car more situated. I just got it back on the road recently.

Like I said, those pics were taken in a "motor swap" phase. A swap that took me over two years due to weather, time, money, blah blah blah. Basically
excuses really. Almost lost interest in it. I'll send you some side shots of the decals. Thanks again

I wouldnt exactly consider my IROC hot, but someone mentioned non-OEM colors, so I figgured I would post a pic. Here's my 89 IROC-Z going sideways with a home-brew PPG paintjob we nicknamed Gangreen. Not too bad considering it was done in an open garage at 9pm LOL

I'm getting ready to re-paint it soon, finally decided on the new color. I had wanted to go with another green solid, but after seeing the pics of that green Camaro that Jeff posted, I decided against it. The color I had picked was very very close, and I dont want to copy that guy or anything. I decided to go with my second choice, black base with my favorite color (green) effects. Ended up with '03 toyota tacoma black with moss green pearl. This upcoming week we'll be painting the hood (82 SMC hood), and depending on how it turns out, I'll decide if I wanna do the whole car. And the ROH ZS's are coming back from the powdercoating shop soon, gonna be powdercoated spokes with a polished lip. Should look pretty hot when its done (paint, suspension, and wheels), no ETA though ...
EDIT: Here is the new look for my IROC-Z, I decided not to powdercoat the wheels because the car will be painted a dark color next.

Hopefully in the next month I'll be posting pics of mine. It won't be bone stock though LOL....it will be Monarch Orange (Hugger), with black stripes on the hood with flames in them and on the door it will have IROC-Z (in the correct spot for my year of course) with some flames coming off the word and of course ya gotta have the stock pinstripes! The interior....well... it will be interesting! I hope to get this sucker all done by the end of April at the latest...

I hope we are joking around here. IROC's didn't come to be until 1985, and even so, it was only a package. It became a stand alone car in 1988, replacing the Z28.

Yeah, you do not see that many Z28s out there with the decals and two tone paint like that. Pretty nice indeed! Iroc wheels are a nice touch too.

Thanks guys! That was last summer, I have got center caps now, and brand new foglights too. I'm gonna polish my rims when it gets warmer. Plus I'm gonna be working on my hood gap! Fun! I'll have to take some pictures when the snow clears and I roll her out of the garage.
