My car finally

Here is my car finally, couldn't get any pics of it. This is how it looks now but soon it going to be midnight metallic blue, I was just wondering what would be a good hood, if I wanted to make it kinda of a tribute to a second gen, with the feel of a thirdgen?

dont know why you want to make it a tribute to a second gen, imo thirdgens are a hell of a lot better but o well. i guess to make it like a second gen for the hood you can make it a "shaker" hood or the "tear drop" hood scoop on a stock flat hood. and add the second gen fender vents to your quarters. thats about it that i can think of to make it more second gen. but i like the car as it is. just paint it like you said and it'll look fine

i think if you wanna do something to tribute it get the 5 inch spoiler from hawks and then get an ss hood and have them do some paint work like the 2nd gens had. lemme find a pic of what i mean .
do something like this on a ss hood.

edit , i found a better example

mabe the side stripe too

and then get some 5 spoke wheels . like tt's and have a black center on them with a polished lip.

The whole reason, I'm doing a second gen tribute theme, is that my grandpa's car is a 1981 Z28, and it made me love camaros. I was thinking along the line of the SS hood, but I don't know, I seen a lot of cars around here with it, and I want somthin differant, wish they had a cowl induction hoods for thirdgens, like they did on the 80's Z28s, the opening flap is so cool!

saw one on ebay a long time ago for a thirdgen....wasnt a mass produced hood though, so you'd have trouble finding one.

Weird, your car is an 89, but someone put the 85-87 Iroc rims on it... not sure why, as the 88-89 Iroc rims are sweet!

Someone on the boards has a shaker hood setup on his 3rd gen Firebird... a search might dig it up!

Instead of useing fender vents from a 2nd gen why not use a pair of vents from a newer corvette that they use behind the door. I was thinking of buying a pair off ebay(think 60$ a pair), and adding them onto my fenders. i was gonna mount them upside down so that the long swooping end would have been at the top of the fender.

I think you should paint it midnight metallic blue and then keep the stock IROC hood. And then get a 5 inch spoiler from hawks and get some chrome Iroc wheels. that would look sweet

i definitely agree paint the headlight buckets black. But i dont agree with aroons reply on the wheels 85-87 wheels look so much better than 88-89 wheels. I have 88-89 wheels on mine and would rather have the 85-87 wheels. just a personal opinion though
