mounting neons
Alright I know most of you hate the idea of neons and I'm not really sure about it on the Camaro either however my buddy really wants them on. We have a free set of white ones to throw on so I was just gonna try it to see if it looks decent.
My question is where is the best place to mount them under the car and where is the best place to mount the transformer in the engine bay? Also is their a grommet on the passenger side of the firewall?
again you can flame all you want but this is not my decision, its my friends car and I told him I'd do them for him

Dont listen to these singleminded old farts, do what you want with your car and as long as you like it then thats all that matters. I dont think id put neons on my car but im not working on my exterior or interior now and dont really have anything in mind yet for that. The engine bay is all thats counts for me now
the frame rails for the sides,
the front air dam works well and the frame rail off the bumper. if you have a 91-92 it will be alot easier to hide the tubes with the gfx. use zip ties instead of the supplied mounting sections as it will hold better. i just lost a front yesterday to one of the screws finally fibrating loose after 5 years.
street glow gold is the best and easiest allowing you to route all tubes in a complete series circle, otherwise check to see if each tube has it's own power transformer.
typically strip and twist the ends together, wrap with tape and be done. don't use connectors. be sure to find a very good ground for the transformer if it's a large single unit. street glows uses the mounting plate as the ground. i used two bolts through the plate to keep vibration to a minimum.
good luck.

i mounted mine pretty far back. the goal was to keep in up as high as i could to keep them invisible as they should be. nothing worse than seeing the tube when on,
so looking from the rear of the bumper there is a indent at the clips where it get closer up into the body thats were i put mine for the rear. i mounted my transformer under the hood by the blower motro and some relays that were there. nice clean install. all the wires ran under the car to the transformer.
jeff
ps i like the neon who gives a rats butt what people think... with cars like kandies and mine sporting em they can;t be all bad.

Some people are frickin' rude.
I don't like 3rd gens with neons either, but let the man be.
It's odd how it's alright for some people to be so rude and be able to think it's alright.
Call me young, give me some lame excuse as to why you are rude, tell me it's freedom of speech, I don't care, but it's still not called for most of the time, especially when asking a question.

i think some people forgot this is an OPEN forum... i didnt make someone post about neons.. and if they are brave enough to post.. they should be brave enough to handle other peoples opinion.. which its just that.. my opinion.. never said anyone had to agree with me, and i never said my opionion is right.. but i expressed it..
yeah dood.. im rude..
and this being an open forum.. i dont have to agree with this guys statement.. BUT he is free to say what he thinks i am... and i dont take offense..
the Si badge thing was funny

I know how forums are and know that people say ****. Best thing to do instead of getting worked up about it is just ignore it or just roll with the punches like the Si joke. people have opinions and everyone is different whether they like it or not. For example I don't usually express any of my negative opinions unless of course it really effects the cars performance or if it is a ****ty product that will cause problems in the future....or if colors dont match (im picky about that)
