It's classic Thirdgen time!! Lets go way back to 1983...
Hey everyone!
Finally got some decent pictures of my 1983 Firebird S/E. I have had this car for about 4 years now. However, my dad bought it brand new from the Pontiac dealer here exactly 22 years ago this month. Anyways enjoy these pictures because you dont see too many nice original early Thirdgens anymore...

That is awesome!!! I love all well kept/ restored 3rd gens. True the usual beat-down variety is the ones we usually see, but Golly that car is beautiful!! I thought you found a pic from when it was brand new and scanned it in. Then I saw the late model Expedition in the background and thought, he must have a time machine and that time machine is the late-model Expedition.
Seriously though, that thing is gorgeous.
Forgot to ask, I recently bought an '83 T/A spoiler that came from the factory flat black. Were the spoiler and side mirrors originally flat black, and if they were (and in no way am I complaining at all) and you painted to original specs, why didn't you leave the spoiler flat black? Now if it was painted body color is that an S/E thing?

And BigWhite you are correct, in 83 the Trans Am had satin black mirrors and spoiler, however the S/E's always had everything painted to match. Even the bird in the center of the tail lights, the Firebird emblems, and S/E emblems match the main body color. No other Firebird was like this.

Absolutely gorgeous. Im not a fan of the actual color and interior color but I tell you that goes out the window real quick given its condition. Excellent looking firebird. My jaw dropped when I saw it.
I had a briar brown S/E for about a year. It was in really sad shape. The interior was pretty good though (tan leather).
Keep it looking good man.

Interesting story about his car....
I sold it a few years ago and about a month or two later I got a letter in the mail from the local police stating the car was abandoned and was placed in the county impound. The guy I sold it to, never transfered the title, so the VIN ran back to my name.
I would have liked to have gotten the car back. I could at least have parted it out and made more money off of it.
I would have saved the tranny and some other parts for my red firebird.-bill

I also have the "Pontiac" centercaps for my stock wheels.
But I have some silver 1988 Formula center caps on them now.
I thought the silver went well with the wheels, and they also say"WS-6" on them.
I usaually run my 16 wheels though, as in my sig.
And the guys are right, you just don't see nice 82-84 'birds, like yours, around much any more.
Keep taking care of it, as you have, for the future generations, so they can see what these cars looked like, back in the day!!
Leon.
