Axle/Gears: 4th gen, 3.23
I dunno...maybe it's just me, and I'm not a stock ****, but the TTA is such a rare and sought-after car, I can't see modding it.

Maybe throw on some aftermarket wheels because those are easy to put back if you ever want to sell the car...but leave it at that.

Just enjoy having a car that most people here would give their left nut to have...well actually I'd probably need a '92 Firehawk in order to give my left nut, but heh

i know theirs one guy and i saw pics on here. I think he did a ra2 hood.Im deffy not a stock **** either, but the cool thing about them is that they look good stock and the engine makes up for the looks. I think keep it stock on the outside , just some drag radials and a fiberglass stock replacement spoiler.

I agree, mods should only be done under the hood of TTA's. And only if the car is a high milege, otherwise stock it should be. However it's your car, do what you like. Try a search for clear marker's or hoods, if you can find a pic of a white TA it will give you a pretty good idea as to what your TTA will look like.

BTW, I envy you! Some day I am going to own a TTA and a '92 Firehawk.

man it's a good thing you guys don't read like turbobuick.com or any of those sites. There's some highly modded low mileage TTAs out there. One with like 4k miles was changed to a tube chasis car (I found that to be stupid). Mine's got 24k miles on it now but I chose mods that I could easily change back. Just keep all your stock parts.

I see no problem in a hood or clear side markers (I'm gunna be looking into those for my car soon) as long as you keep the originals and keep them in good shape. Putting a new hood on isn't that bad (I'd almost consider it like changing wheels) just as long as you're not messing up the stock one.

There was a guy in Sweden who put on a big hood scooped fiberglass hood on his TTA. He sold the car, and I'm not sure what it looks like now.
He also modded the engine alot to. Raced the h*ll out of it!
There are ton of guys who mod their TTAs with all kind of things.
SFCs, pods on the side pillar, engine mods, engine bay mods (like strut tower bats and such), wheels, and brakes, and even radios and such.
I myself have two mods.
Boom box, with the wires running alongside the stock wires, so just unsnap, and everything looks stock.
Flowmaster muffler, since the shop replacing my electric fuel pump, cut my exhaust off, and dropped it!
Oops, I forgot, one other mod.
Signed by the winner of the 1989 Indy 500, in gold paint pen!

Car: too many ...
I'm definately in the minority when I say this, but I say mod the heck out of it if YOU want to. Sure the care is rare, but it is your car and you should be able to do whatever you want with it without other people getting on your case. I understand why people feel the way they feel, but unless they are personally going to do something to "save" the car, I dont see why anyone is going to make a big deal about it. I remember when I wanted to "hack up" my old B4C people were screaming bloody murder at me. But when I said I would trade for a run of the mill Z28 w/ same options, nobody stepped up. Easier to give the .02 about "saving" the car than it is to actually "save" the car I guess.

But one thing is for sure, this is something I've learned: Even if you dont agree with what people are saying about keeping it stock, the car does hold alot more value when its stock. So if you plan to ever sell the car and you want to get your $ back (or maybe even make $) listen to everyone and keep it stock. Before touching my old B4C I was approached and offered a ridiculous price even though the car was not for sale. Needless to say it sold and I learned my lesson. From the perspective of worth, its definately smarter to keep the rare cars in good stock condition and save the "hacking up" for the run of the mill cars.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you want to enjoy it and never plan to sell it, then do what you want to it and enjoy it. If you want to retain its value as an investment then leave it stock. I prefer #1 but must admit #2 is great for making some $$.

I am all for modding your car, stock is boring!
As far as the TTA's being rare and sought after, I see more of them around at car shows and the track than say any 91-92 firebird. I think a 91-92 Formula, Trans Am or GTA is more rare than a TTA. I have no desire to own a TTA (except maybe just to pirate teh motor and stuff) but would love a yellow 92 Formula 350 with t-tops!

Hmmm that seems kind of weird since I don't know of very many in MN. The biggest majority are in the NW including IN, MI, OH, IL, PA, NY, etc. I have been to large car shows in the MI, IN, IL, OH area and have only seen like 5 other TTAs at shows (this includes the Trans Am Nationals, Pontiac Nationals, and the Great Lakes Ragional Firebird Gathering).

I'm rolling with Crazy on this one. Do what you want. It may be wise to keep it to things that you can put back to stock if you wanted to. If you decide to get to crazy with the boost and such pull the original motor and tranny, replace it with another boosted 3.8 and 2004R and race the **** out of it. As cheap as parts are for thirdgens, it is kind of impossible to total one if you are willing to put the time and effort into it.

Id only mod the car with stuff that is not perminent and can be changed back. Nothing wrong with some internal work just dont bore or stroke the engine....use aftermarket heads, cam swap...sure and ya keep all original parts. Thats were i stand on it nothing that really alters the car severly i say. I wouldnt paint it another color...id keep the interior pretty stock...but ya like i said if new seats hold on to the originals.

Hi TTA-Matt!
By chance, do you know your car's build number?
You ever post over on http://www.turbotransam.com?
Nice looking car!
