Unless the car runs the numbers and has the power to need it, it's as dumb as a huge spoiler on a stock Civic.

It's the EXACT same thing.

Theres a big difference between a cowl hood and a big *** pro stock scoop.

Well unless you like getting laughed at by car guys. Which apparently is some peoples goals.

Cowl induction all the way, it gives it the race car look and scares people but at the same time it saves aircleaners and just has a different style, it WILL get attention

This is my buddy's IROC with a forward facing scoop. I think it looks great but I went with a 4" cowl so I could mount some gauges out under the hood.

See thats not accessive. Has the same advantages as a cowl hood. To each there own.

See he's also pulling the front wheel of the ground. So he likely has a need for the bug catcher.

Put that hood on a stock 305 running 16 sec 1/4 miles and you'll be laughed off the track or anywhere you go for that matter.

You couldn't. The added air resistance and weight would not allow the Iron Duke to move the car.

Hi John
I think I might know who you are - is your Z28 black?

It looks like the same hood still on Trevor's Camaro, but it's been a couple years since I've seen it to be sure. And it certainly looks better in black
Here's another shot of Mike's car, getting some air

It's been a few years since I've seen either one, but the yellow one had a 383, and I'm pretty sure it was in the 11's, if not 10's.
The black had a 510, and I'm thinking it may have been in the 9's.

I believe John would have some better answers...

I have a Black Z with a 4" cowl hood and I'm a good friend of Mike's.

Mike's car this year was running consistent 11.72's on the motor and the best of 10.30 on Nos.

Im kinda new to the boards.

Hi i beg to differ. I thing the look of a small prostock hoodscoop on a street car is awsome especally if you want to be a little different. Everybody puts the cowl hoods on not that theres anything wrong with that its a cool look too but I always wanted somthing different. I drove my car around like this for over 3 years 1 of which it was just a custom ram air setup and ill tell you the looks I got.......... whew especally since i had exhaust dumps welded on after my headers, i could roll up to ice cream/ water ice ect that would have a bunch of people standing outside in line and every single head would turn. Mine wasnt that big to keep me sort of legal anyways but it did the trick. Never got pulled over for it. Anyways I had it for a year and it was just a custom ram air setup then a year later bolted a paxton supercharger and directed the ram air into that. I have since change the hood out for an 8/71 blower bolted onto a 632 big block so Im actually getting ready to sell the setup if anyone is intrested. The paxtons gone but I do have the ram air setup with box, KnN filter, ducting, and complete hood with good paint. If anyone is intrested shoot me an email when it gets a little warmer I pull it out of storage and put it up for grabs. Oh also I list a bigger pic when I get home tonight

I honestly wouldn't go with the Pro Stock hoods, enless maybe it was a hard core drag strip car only. Cowls are nice but there just everywhere now.
