After reading post concerning the chrome being to bling bling for the 3rd gen. I thought I might try to find some polished as opposed to chrome.

Any ideas?

No, they make 'em. ...at least in chrome, which means I'm sure you can get 'em in polish.

.....I agree with the no chrome thing, especially on Iroc wheels. The beauty is in the design, and they don't NEED chrome like other wheels may.

Like a perfect steak drowned in seasoning and marinade.

my bad for the mis-information then

but yes...on a sports car, nix the chrome, you can get polished to look just as good, and it doesnt ever get that 'yellow tint' that some chrome gets with age

Chrome Irocs look good as well. IMO. Especially 17s, but nothing bigger.

Ya it is strange. It seems that everyone stopped making the polished style rims. I am thinking there was no demand for them and thus, they stopped making them. :-(

I'd even settle for unfinished rims. Heck I just don't wanna pay for chrome only to blast 'em down to bare metal!!!

Tommy, I'm still amazed no one here has oversized Irocs painted like OE other than you. I'm sure it makes YOU happy though!!! ...your wheels are EASILY my faves here on TGO.

...although I'm personally still a fan of OEM 16" inchers!

You can still get polished. Just ask any dealer that sells the chrome ones. They can still get polished versions. I was just quoted a price on 18" polished $620 shipped to my door.

Let me know, or I'll let you know how they are. I ordered mine 2 days ago and I'm having them installed tomorrow. Except mine are 16's...

I'm buying my son a '91 RS 305 m5 Friday and was looking for a reasonably priced tire to put on the new wheels I bought for him. I was going for the Kuhmo but after reading the positive surveys and the Consumer Reports article I change my mind. Mine are due in Friday, I'm hoping the wheels come in this week also.

color paint....what color is your car?

I talked to a dealer and he said that they couldn't get any. If you know where I could get a set, please let me know.

I picked up a set of polished 17x8's last summer, and I couldn't be happier with them. The only bad thing about a polished wheel is having re-polish them every month. Chrome are much easier to clean. Here's a pic.

If one of the companies would produce an 18x9 instead of just 18x8, I'd love to grab a polished set and paint them to look stock.

painting the chrome slots to look like stock would be awesome. as far as wanting wider wheels, if you willing to pay i know of a shop up here that stretches wheels. im sure you guys could find someone who does it. its not a uncommon request.
