as i promissed in my other thread, i have pics of the new boyd wheels on the car. they look awsome. i went with kumo escta tires all the way around. in the front i got 245/45R17 and the backs are 285/40R17. next thing for me would be some nice big brakes. let me know what you think. enjoy

Looks fantastic! Please post your exact wheel specs. I'm trying to make an informational FAQ about what wheel specs work on our thirdgens and how they look. Your pics are great!
Also - is your car dropped? If so - how much and by what method. Are you running anything that would differ from a typical thirdgen car (stock equipment). Thanks again.

thanks alot. the specs for the wheels are
front 17X8 with 4.5bs
backs 17X10 with 5.75bs
i have a PAracing tubular front cross member along with spohn tubular A-arms. i used to have eibach springs all the way around wich made the car sit real nice. when i put the tubular crossmember and A-arms in i used the eibach springs and car sat insanely low. the lowest point of the crossmember wast 1 1/2inches from the ground. thats not very streetable for the roads around me. so i put the stock springs back in the front and thats the way it is in the pics. the front sits alittle high but maybe one of these days ill get the coil overs.
and yes the car was originally black when i first got it about 5 years ago. heres a pic of what it looked like back then.

no one is gonna like this but i dont like them , they looks too small , and the more i see 17s the more im glad i went with 18s, but you ride will be a hell of a lot better than mine ****ty ride. Something just doesnt looks right with the car, like it needs a 5 inch spoiler or something .

i have to agree with you. they do look alittle small, but the look alot better than the iroc wheels. i was thinking about going with 18s because the 18 inch isnt that much more than 17 inch wheel. but the tires are big$$$. and with the way this car goes through rear tires i would have to be a millionaire to keep tires on it. that was the major deciding factor. as for the spoiler, i will never put a 5inch spoiler on. i really dont like the way they look. if i were to do any other spoiler it would be the high rise spoiler.
i paid about $1330 shipped and just under $500 for tires

i think if you dropped the car a bit more, it would look tons better...i hate gaps there...the wheels would flow alot better tucked up in there....
i would've went with 17's too with the motor you have in there...
better enjoy the tread on those 285's, cuz it won't last long

The whole thing looks great, and since there was reasoning behind the 17's I won't say you should of gotten 18's. The only thing I could honestly think to say I would change would be a smaller cowl hood, but what you have is still nice in my book.
Whats next on the mod list?

unfortanately i have to use that hood. its the only one that will clear my motor. i really didnt want to use that hood because i thought it would be way to big and ugly. but to tell you the truth its starting to grow on me.

car looks great the center caps are awesome compared to the sticker ones. i would lower that thing down about an inch 3/4 or 2. i love the color of that car though it looks alot like that c6 corvette sunburst orange which is georgous on those corvettes and looks awesome on your maro too!

i would absolutely recomend this motor. the guys over a shafiroff are awsome. they are really easy to work with and really know their ****. as far a streetable, it depends on your definition of streetable. i this it is. i dont know it is on a long drive. the biggest cramp in the *** is the gas milage. i get about 5-6mpg. when i bought the motor i really didnt care about that but what i didnt take into consideration was that gas prices were going to sky rocket to $2.50-$3.00 a gallon. but i really dont mind that much because i really dont drive it that much.

Thanks for the reply, I understand about gas mileage as I get about the same mileage with my current set-up. Not too concerned about gas mileage. Stretabillity as in taking a sunday cruise or driving to track since I don't trailer. Thanks again and good luck

I like it, but something is just "off". I think it's that the rear wheels are sticking out just a tad too far, and the car needs to be an inch lower.

the backs really dont stick out that much. i guess you would have to see it in person.

for me the local drag strip is a 1 hour ride minimum. so i never plan on driving the are for an hour on a really hot humid day. i just get extremely paraniod with this motor(most likely because of the price tag) but i dont want to warp heads or anything like that. if you have a really good cooling system you should be fine. the stock system will never do the job. i dont know if you have looked around on the shafiroff website but he makes a 434ci EC, which is probably alot more streetable but makes alittle less power. check out his site http://www.shafiroff.com/ultrastreet/434_595_engine.asp
