SS clones?

ive been thinking about repainting, stripping all the emblems, and putting some retro 1st gen ss badges on my camaro. i would love to see pics of anyone who has done this. im thinking a SS hood and the 2002 SS 10-spoke wheels would look nice. right now im fishing for ideas.

You could use the SS badges that they used on the S-10's theyre more modern looking.

if you were to install "SS" badges.....I suggest the new Trail Blazer SS badges
...they would flow alot better than the 1st gen badges. You can pick them up at dealerships for a pretty descent price.

I think the whole idea is having that retro look. I think the older SS emblems look better anyway... Fill in where the old emblems go and give it a try on the fender where the older cars and 4th genners have them.

SS

hey LT, i saw your car on your cardomain link. WOW! my jaw litterally dropped! that is definetely the coolest thing i have ever seen. absolutely breathtaking. what size wheel spacers, 2" or 2.5"? i think i would like to either fill in the stock badge locations, or put plain "camaro" badges there. but i do want to keep the badging retro.

The stock RS badges are still on the car. They just have a piece of vinyl over them. A friend of my dad owns a graphics shop. He made a piece of black vinyl to cover the whole emblem so you couldn't see it and then put the same style lettering in SS instead. Any graphics shop can do it to match your car without even taking them off of the car.

The spacers are 2 inch spacers all the way around. The companys selling the spacers say to use 1.5 on one end and 2 on the other but I bought four 2 inch spacers real cheap from a guy who was gonna put the 10 spoke wheels on an new model S-10. If you look at the pic of my car at sunset with the S-10, you can see the wheels line up perfect with the edge of the flared part of the fender(and the nice paint). Stock third gen wheels sit inside the fenderwells.

Its always nice to get comlpiments on my car. What some people on here might not know is that the car is daily driven (rain, sun, snow, 2 hail storms ) by me, an 18 year old senior in High School. I am very proud of my car and I have alot of time and money in it and the compliments mean alot to me.

My factory wheels where the red 15 inch RS wheels and they had factory size tires on them. They where 215/65/15's.

Thanks for the compliments. If you do visit my cardomain page, please rate my car. I would like to get back to 5 stars. If you're on here, put me on your friend list or leave me a comment.
