I think this thread should really belong in Auto Detailing and Appearance, but I think your buddy's crazy. There's nothing wrong with that hood. It looks great.

Now cut a whole in the ram air stick on's so a bug catcher/ blower scoop can fit thru them. That way you'll have everyway of getting air to the engine.

you need to dump that hood BIG TIME...it doesnt look right and the air inlets are ridiculously small...take those off and cut in a big air inlet or heat extractor (the reverse of an air inlet)...the width of the cowl and ill bet it would look much better

what's wrong with a stock IROC hood i'm probably one of the few people who thinks that the stock IROC and Z28 hoods are the best looking hoods out there for our cars

I kinda like that hood. Is it a Jongbloed with scoops stuck on it? If the scoops are just glued on, you might want to try removing them and see how that looks. But otherwise it isn't a bad lookin hood. In my opinion anyway.

And don't listen to the Mustang guys...

you could take a stock iroc hold, cut out the metal from under the louvers, and have the same exact system, minus the autozone special looking hood scoops.

your would look killer minus the scoops, IMHO.

my personal opinion, i DONT like that hood. Those opening are way to small as stated before. I like the stock hood as well. The SS hood looks pretty good as does a cowl hood. By themselves that is.

I'd prefer just a cowl hood or IROC style.

I dont think those are glues on, pretty sure he was saying his buddies car has glued on scoops and that hood comes like that.

Ya that's right,my buddies 02 gt mustang has stick on scoops, and he was saying he wasn't a fan of my hood, mine is a fiberglass hood with no stick on's.I was just wanting to see what 3rg gen people thought of it.I wasn't just going to take the opinion of a mustang owner. You know what I mean!It was on the car when I bought it.The good thing about it is the wife can't see over the thing in the seat.soooooo nooooo drivey for her.

I think it looks alrite. I don't think I've seen a hood like that. In the end though, YOU are the one that's driving it, so if you like it, keep it.

Just take the stick on scoop off and it would look good in my book. Dont get a new hood....Waste of money. Do it the cheap way, get a iroc hood(if a new hood)

IMO, I think you should go and take off those scoops. The ram air style holes are too small, so it doesnt look as tough as it could. If you could figure out some way to take off the scoops it would look a lot sleeker. In reality though its whether you like the hood or not, and quite frankly you can tell your mustang friend to mind his own business. As other members have wrote, IROC hoods look nice too, so if you have the cash and want to change, you have lots of options. Just don't change it off what your friend said, its your car, make it the way you like it.
