Sunset Metallic Paint w/ Pearl is done! Check this out!

SO I used to own a Camaro. Some of you may recognize me from Thirdgen.org or this board though I tend to be away doing other things these days.
But I always wanted a Sunset metallic color car, ever since I first saw one in person. I HAD to have it. Its been 5 years but I finally decided to paint my current car Sunset metallic... and I had a layer of gold "pearl" between the base and the clear coat to boot.

And of course, I just had to run to the camaro boards days after it was done to show it off!!!

And here it is!!

That is a great looking car, and a great color. Ive always had a thing for 240s...Is that an S14 with a silvia conversion? I dont know them like i know my camaros, but i bet its a fun car!

This will get locked just so you know as its not really third gen related at all.

Well thats silly all it is is pictures of a car w/ paint its not like its a technical post or anything.

Someone looking to do this color to their thirdgen should know what it can look like, right? I mean its a GM color.

Well I have a body guy I use to paint all my cars, I basically told him I wanted the GM Sunset metallic paint code for a base coat, followed by a light golden pearl, then the clear.

What REALLY brought the color out was the final wetsand and buff job. The paint was nice, but not very glossy or color changing until after the wet-sand buff job. I have a guy that goes over the car with 2000 then 2500grit sand paper, wet, and a razorblade, to make the clear perfectly flat, then buffs it. The process takes about 6 hours usually 2x 3 hour sessions with the car he spends, but the result is what you see there. If you want the paint code or whatever, email me, ill find out the exact number from my paint guy. Kingtal0n -at- aol.com

And in case anyone is wondering...

Dude, sweet Kouki! My cousin also has a Kouki with a built KA-T pushing over 500HP. That was the only car that ever scared me shitless.

Good Luck with it!

Oh, And Im loving that R32 Skyline in the background! <3

Sure it is! That sunset metallic is VERY thirdgen related. Awesome color. But my advice is to sell the Nissan and buy another Camaro.

I like that alot. I see alot of those at drift meets I go to, but that's alot better looking than some I've seen. Is it an SR or a KA-T? Maybe you kill tires with it?

yeah Its an SR20 I threw together.
It does this at 18-20PSI

thats on pump gas.

Ah, I am looking to a buy another camaro eventually, or at the very least put a small block into a 240sx to make some power. It would be nice to see 300+Ft.Lbs of torque below 2000RPM again, however useless it is to have, its still fun to drive as if having 600Horsepower is usefull anyways right?

I've always liked that sunset orange metallic paint. and while not an F-body damn nice car. I love how you start making power just as my TPI finishes.
