they make great products, but you should see the home that glenn and his father (owners of Billet) live in, holly ****. I know glenn personally.

Re: nice way to clean up that engine
Whats the reason for the big price tag? I've seen a bunch of these sets and none of them are cheap. I just don't see it. I'd like to have it, but why so much?

at the same time though, their pulleys and covers arent like regular companies'. the spend more time on making the spokes on the pulleys look more custom, and they have great options like ball milled, chevy logo'd etc, on their valve covers, breathers, and all that jazz.
just a company that really focuses on quality

Re: nice way to clean up that engine
I'm sure it's an excellent company, but every set from every company no matter what model or make that I've seen are big bucks. I mean, it's half the price of a new crate motor...And it's just a few pulleys and covers. There must be a huge mark up with this stuff, over other possible mods. Even used stock serpentine setups are expensive, but I figured that was from supply and demand. I don't see that as an issue with custom serpentine sets.

They cost because they are billet. Look at a set of custom billet wheels. Even some of the regular ones cost $5-700 a peice. Ive heard rumors of people paying upwards of $1000 a wheel.
Personally Ill just paint or powder coat mine.

Re: nice way to clean up that engine
I found this explanation as to why billet aluminum parts are so expensive.
" Much of a piece of aluminum billet ends up in the recycling bin after a milling machine has extracted a part from within it. Unfortunately, aluminum chips return only pennies on the dollar of the cost of billet aluminum. That fact and the expensive, computer-controlled machinery required to precisely cut each part explain the higher cost of billet accessories."
