I would go with Torque Thrust II's. There is a 92 Z28 in my town with 17" TT2's and god it looks awesome. Personally, i dont think facemount wheels look right on thirdgens. I think it looks better if theres some depth from the front of the wheel to the lugs.

Chuck, if those are the final choices, I'd go with either #1 or the IROCs. I don't like the last two styles on Camaros much, fine on 'birds though. I haven't seen pics of your convert yet, but if it is similar to your old car I think #1 would probably look tight.

I am open to suggestions. I want something that is a direct bolt-on and low maintenance.
Chuck, I thought you were putting chrome 16" 88-90 Iroc wheels. I saw one pic (I think) I was anxious to see more. I think you can't go wrong with IROC Wheels on a thirdgen. But out of those I like the top wheel (#1) the best. I also like these a lot:
This is from skulte's site
"ROH 17x9.5" ZS rims to fit the front of 82-92 F-bodies! This lets you run 275 40R17 tires on all corners for ultimate handling with the ability to rotate front and rear."
The chrome ones look sharp on thirdgens, but you already have 16th ROH's on your RS, I believe. I'd probable stick with the IROC Wheels. I can't wait to see updated pics!

Chuck....have you thought about cross laced type of rims for your car? If not, and your only choice is from the four rims above, I would think the IROC rims and the last 5 star rims would look good. But I really think some nice deep dish rims like CarnDrv's car would look really nice.
Thanks

Thanks for the input guys. I was hoping for one overwhelming choice but I guess not. It can never be that easy
. I think it is between the current chrome IROC and the Snypers unless I change my mind and put the ZS on it.If I do go with the ROH wheels the chrome IROCs will be for sale.

You could always go with the ZS again like on the RS, but get them with the dark spokes this time. Those are what I'm leaning toward for my IROC. I really like the darker look that I got from painting the sides of my stock wheels with a charcoal paint instead of the stock grey, so I may go one step further and get the dark wheels.

I saw a 91-2 Z at the race track with the 17" snypers and I thought they looked pretty damned sweet.

Howdy folks, well my opinion goes like this, I prefer the look of 17" snypers to just about anything, the my 89 IROC and my black GTA's look pretty damned good to me, I plan on painting the center of the GTA's the same color as my car when I repaint it. I also plan to upgrade to 17X8 front and 17X9.5 rear snypers in the future after hood and new ground effects. Later all
i think the chrome iroc wheels look cheap.. they are too shiny or something, anyhow, im a sucker for 5 spoke wheels, but the snypers are my favorite.. its all what you want dude

The ASA's in the 1st pic would be real nice if they offer 17 by 9 1/2 and the car is lowered correctly. The ROH Z9s r nice 2, I saw them on a Maroon IROC before and they looked good. Take a peek at American Racing, I went 2 the auto store yesterday and they now offer 20s. I'm not trying 2 say get 20s but the designs were nice, maybe they have them in 17s 2.

I've seen mention of easy to keep clean.....
Those Iroc Chrome rims are not easy to clean.
I've seen about 3 camaro's around town that have those chrome rims and all are flat filthy around the lug nut area. If you look at that area on the picture of the first post here, you'll notice that you have to take off the lug nuts in order to clean that area of the rim.
I think they look sweet and I'd like to have them as well, but for the prices I've seen them going for....
I'd rather get a rim that is easier to clean. You can't get your fingers in there when the lug nuts are on the rim.
I like the Torq-Thrust rims also and think they look sweet on that red Convert. Plus they look easy to clean. And they are about half the price of the Iroc Chrome rims I've seen.

91 Mystic Teal RS Convertible. 305 TBI, Auto, stock.
125,000 miles and still going strong.
Only minor mods planned for the near future.
Like headers, flowmaster exhaust, some ignition mods, K&N airfilter, Perhaps a chip if needed.
Waiting for the motor to blow up so I can install a ZZ4 crate motor. Let's just hope it don't blow up too soon.

I agree, they are hard to clean. I think i spend about 5 minutes a peice on mine to get them looking like this

I don't see where the chrome is going to be any harder to clean than polished/clearcoated aluminum. Get the right type of brush and the right wheel cleaner and you'll have no problems.

Chrome isnt going to be hard to clean at all. just wax the wheels everytime you wax your car and then evey other time they will come clean with a spongeand some soap and water
