i'm the guy who was playing need for speed with my wife and liked this paintjob so we painted it. well i have another camaro, little meaner then this orange one and i want to paint it. i want something really out there this time. so does anyone have any idea's for some crazy paintjobs? thanks for any input.

 

this is my new camaro. 83,t-tops, shift light and tac, gauge piller amp-oil-temp, b&m pro shift ratchet shifter, fresh 350 bored .030 over, 202 ALUMINUM HEADS, moderate cam, Holley 750cfm double pump carb, edlebrock eps performer intake, billet msd cap and rotor, switched to serpentine belt and electric fan, new back tires, new magna flow 3inch exhaust, full length headmen headers, new 4th gen rear end new, newly rebuilt performance th350 transmission but starting to slip after sitting in Woodward cruise last year and it over heated. not the motor just the trans. have since put on an extra trans cooler. car has ZERO rust

 

What kind of out there are you talking about? There are ideas(multicolor, or even graphic designs) and then there are crazy/rediculous IDEAS...like beer and ti_tt_ies. Could make the bottom half of the car the beer, then from the middle where the side mouldings are up do foam. Crazy/stupid paintjob, but if I saw it driving around, it would definately make me crave some beer. That would be really out there, so what kind of out there are you referring to?

 

Being Canadian, one thought that came to mind for me was to start the front of the car with maple leaves and as the graphics continued, to have the leaves swirling and folding and obviously becoming less in number towards the end of the car. Something along the lines of a very dense pack at the front but only one or two at the back end. I also thought that this would only be done on one side.

I've become a little tired of flames and I thought this a great alternative to suggest speed.

By the way, 3M does some great graphic productions along those lines.

ok for out there i'm thinking designs, tribal or tu_ner. i dont want something stupid or childish but something that sticks out. the orange car i got compliment like "hmm i'm not sure what i think about it" stuff that makes people wheather they like it or not stop and take a double look. i'm not into graphics to much that or i just have'nt come across any that really catch my eye other then need for speed lol lol

as far as maple leaves.... neet idea i think that would be some serious serious airbrushing. unless i had a graphic made up. i can free hand ok but i have to admit i'm not that good. designs like what ont he orange i can handle no problem.

in all seriousness if you want a flame look, but not flames, you could do it so it looks like the car is going so fast it's tearing the paint off, and exposing a different color underneath like this, but you could make it less detailed also:

ya i like the peeling paint look. i'm not sure if my skill and do it to where it looks good... i would hate my self if i messed up a paintjob like that. i was thinking about doing some practicing for the peeling paint look.

Race-style or Tribal?

 

i have always had an idea for a paint job but it'd take some skill. i seen it back in the late 90's in a car model magazine. (model like the ones you put together) start off with a red front end and the rear black. (or substitute your own two colors) then at the back of the front fender you would have black lines, halves of bowties, and outline more of the bowtie, then as you go back you would have red bowties flying/ripping over the black. it looked killer. for around 6 or so years i kept the page out of the mag with this paint job. it was what i wanted to do to my car. maybe one day i will have it done. what do you think?

 

see if you can take a pic of the page and post it. it sounds neat. i'm not sure if i'm at that skill level yet. i tape off designs no problem, and i can free hand a little. i was planning on practicing on some more free hand before i start this car. i thought the green and blue went nice together. the interior of this car is all blue. and it's mint so i dont really want to pull it out although i'd love to have black interior.

 

House of Kolor has a computer program you can buy for like 60 bucks..i think thats what i paid for it. But its called digital paint booth...Its pretty cool, it gives a real pic of a z28 in gray and then there is plenty of different options with color and templets for designs you could go with...Its a good idea in my eyes, i just have so many different ideas i drew out i cant deside which one to go with yet lol...anyways here is a link to the site http://www.hokdigitalpaintbooth.com/wordpress/

 

thanks for the link, i will check it out. and here i was going to all the toy stores and gaming stores for idea's lol lol shoot for 60$ i'll buy it and i'm sure i'll get lots of use out of it.
