Street scoop or no

I like the way street scoops look but i am undecided whether or not to use one. i would cut the hood and have it stick up anout 6in or so on an angle. i think that would look badass but im not sure, it might look stupid. i have about 310hp with cam, intake, heads...etc the car sounds good and i feel like it might fit in, its not like its a stocker. what do u think yes or no?....

Re: Street scoop or no

A pic of what you are talking about would help. As for scoops, well most of the time I don't like cowl hoods, ram air hoods or whatever unless there is something creating a need for them. That being said I do like the looks of some hood options. The Harwood 3" cowl hood or the Ram Air I hood being a couple of them. 6" of anything sticking up on the hood is too much for a street driven vehicle. That seriously impairs your visibility. To me anything over 3" is too much for street use.

Re: Street scoop or no

i really dont suggest it, PERIOD. from my understandings, you dont need something that big so theres no point of it and it will limit visibilty. dont flame me, but i think putting unesessary stuff on our cars is why we get some of our bad names.

Completely an eye sore and unnecessary you will gain no performance from it. You might even loose some performance if you use the crappy paper filter that they have with it. Get cowl hood you will be much more happy in the years to come. You never want to look like you have something that you dont. That imitates the supercharged look. Keep it more subtle. You wont regret it.

Re: Street scoop or no

without the matching blower under it, its r!cer material. besides, the engine is not in the center of the car, so the scoop will be off center to the passengerside about 1" and look pretty dumb

dont do it

Re: Street scoop or no

Makes you look like a dumbass if you don't have a blower that needs it and it's just sitting on a regular old 350. I've seen it, and I strongly advise against it if you want the local gearheads to take you seriously. These cars (in my opinion) looks best with subtle touches. I ended up getting a 2 inch cowl hood (for necessity purposes as well as aesthetics) and it's a nice change. I suggest you try something like that. That and the hood actually will benefit you.
