Honestly,

Despite my car being a daily driver, I don't get a lot of questions. Mostly compliments.

Someone did ask me a while back though, "holy **** what year is that Caprice?" -.-

 

I usually get the Nice car, what year is that?

Lately its been "what does it run" now that the turbos are visable. Then they ask what year

 

lol..funny stuff :P most the kids at my high school are r1cer punks but i get the occasonal "Sweet car bro" or "ey bro wanna gimme a ride home?" usually ill ask why before taking them and the funniest answer i got was "man im not tryin to ride home with him in that beat *** honda." haha xD

 

The question that the wife continues to ask me is, "Why do you keep putting money into that thing?" or "When are you going to have it 100% done?" or "How much this time?". Women, they just don't understand, but I've had it since 96 and she still lets me do what I want to it (within reason).

 

"How much you want for that car?"

I've been asked that 3 times in the last year driving through the bad part of town.

 

I ALWAYS get asked if it's a 350, and then I get to feel lame and say it's only a 305.

 

i cant remember HALF the questions iv had lol. but the most frequent are "what year is that?" "whats in that thing?" "how fast have you had it?" (i always say idk, the speedo ends at 85 lol)

and yes, a few people refered to my car as a "bird" or "ta"

Oh and one time someone realy refered to it as a vette.......haha (fine with me)

 

I've had a guy ask me if it had a 3/4 cam in it . I told him it had the whole thing in it. Being a smart a&& (I'm usually not).

Every now and then I get the "Nice camaro" when it clearly says TRANS AM on my windshield lol but I do have camaro wheels lol

 

I get all the usual question, but on Power Tour, pulling into Mobile, the best reaction I got was from on of the cops directing us into the parking area. He leaned into the window and said "this thing is packin some goodies isn't it" I just smiled and said "well it isn't stock"

 

I get `what is it`........they think its an exotic

`does it have a HEMI`.............ahhhh right, but no
` nice wheels`.........by the guy who refinished them,this at a set of lights LOL
`lay some rubber`..... have had the cars for many years still have yet to do this

I get lots of compliments and even more looks all of the time...usually we hear "What year is that", "I use to have an IROC", "Nice car", "I like your interior", "I bet that car can run", "What you got in there" and "Sounds good man".

 

I always get what year is it and Whats under the hood.

I say sure do and at the light all hell breaks loose lol

The last fox body I raced I had to lift because when I started to spray the car at 4000 rpm(in first I launch at 2800 when tires stop spinnin i spray it) started spinnin again(on radials) I about took him out lifted then hammered it and ran off by 10-12 cars on him and I didnt spray it again.

stopped at gas station and he said WTF my car runs 12.0 That thing dont look/sound like it would run 13s

by the way i ran 1170s on spray on radials the next night lol

 

i live in a small town in lentucky, and people actually ask me if my car is competition orange, one guys said is that grabber orange? lol its hugger orange with white stripes. people around here really make me mad, people say how much you want for it, i say alot more then a sane person would pay, and they say like 3,000? or people will walk up to me and say, i dnt like the hood, or man those stripes are wide. i just ignore them.

this reminds me, about a year ago i was outside working on getting the serp belt off to put on a new alt, and the neighbors were outside, the father was out in front with his son and i over heard him telling his son "i bet you didnt know your dad used to have a car just like that did you?" i thought that was cool, lol

 

Usually while at the dragstrip..."What the hell is in this thing, it flies?" or if the hood is open "I see how you just did that, what did you get the turbo off of?" To which I reply that it's too big to come from something else, it's made for racing and is a 91mm.

It depends on the age of the person asking the question. If its someone in their 30's or older they ask me what year it is. If its someone between the ages of 16 and 25 they ask me; "So that's got a 6 cylinder engine right?" What's odd is I've had this issue since my 2002 Firehawk. Its been the same with that car, my 2005 GTO and the 1992 Formula.

This would be a good time to show off a four Cylinder Camaro. That would freak em out!

Right after i got my Camaro, i took it to Wal-Mart for an Oil Change. I didn't care, the engine was worn out anyhow. The Steering had a Heaping Crapload of slop in it and the engine ran like crap. One of the guys working there wanted to buy it from me. I told him it was a Money Pit and he said he didn't care. That sounds like a Future third gen owner to me..........

When i parked it at the Condo, I got alot of the "What year is that?". They all seemed surprised that it was a 1982.

 

i hate the question "what year is it?". my car is (by the VIN and title) a 1990. but i took all the stuff off the car that made it look like a 90. it's got a 2000 firebird dash, 1987 sportcoupe front/rear bumper covers, no side gfx, and a pre-85 spoiler (no third brake light) so it "appears" to be a 1985 sportcoupe. oh well...

I get alot of "what year is that?" When I tell em it's a 91 they're usually surprised and say "wow, they didn't change it much. I had an 84 and blah blah blah"
Any and all questions are asked by guys at gas stations with big trucks and no shrt.

I noticed in my brothers Firebird, the "cool Corvette" incidents happened a lot, but not in my Camaro. It's those folding headlights and more rounded lines, they look a lot like C5's to your average Ford driver

With my car, the question is always "How much you want for it?". Probably because it's a really straight car, looks pretty nice, but the paint is destroyed (clearcoat peel). That probably makes them think they'll get it cheap, but they're wrong... I just care more how it runs and how stuff works, than how it looks... Everytime I have the money for paint I think of something else to do instead.
