Funny thing now, as its getting put back together, I dont hear the last one much anymore. Now I hear..."You want to sell that Camaro?"

Oh, and I get the occassional, "is that an IROC?"

 

I always get asked...what year is the car, what kind of car is it, what's it got in it? lol! all they have to do is look at the cowl & front fender emblems...and how much money I got into it!

 

Mostly asked from the guys at work...

"When you getting rid of that Fireturd?"

People on the streets...

"Is that a Camaro or a vette?" (Camaro front, Bird rear)

Then there are the "Ford" people...

"When ya trading for a stang?" (Never lol)

 

id take your v6 over a v8 anyday.

i mainly get the "is that thing fast?" too, but we all know exhaust on a stock 2.8 doesnt equal speed

 

I get, "When are you going to paint it?".

I have never ever gotten if its for sale when It was in its rusted shape when I drove it last year. Maybe because it look like crap? Who knows but its sad that that question gets popped up alot now when its in primer

My fathers 89 Caprice Classic on the other hand, always and I mean about 1-3 average per day gets asked if its for sale.

 

That's because people like to put 26" wheels and candy paint on them. Sometimes they'll pick a product to make a theme of. I can't understand ANY of this. Why would you want to jack a car up, ruining it's center of gravity and putting wheels and tires on it that are so Fragile and expensive that you have to drive it like it's made of glass? Most of the time the wheels and tires cost more than the car it's self is worth! I think they're REALLY REALLY ugly. This makes no sense.

 

Yea thats probably why. We currently have have it on American racing wheels with big 295/50/15's in the back and it has a very aggressive stance. Sad thing is, it has 61k miles currently and we got it for $800. I did not belive the miles but it is really rust free. Door jams are clean, no wheel wells rust, nothing. The body is beat to crap though since a young guy my age had it before. Still it feels nice getting complimented in any vehicle you are in. This is why I love my Camaro

I still get asked pretty regularly "What kind of car is that?" That happened most recently at a fundraising car wash for one of the local high schools. I had to explain to a 15 year old girl what the car was, and that it was older than she was. She didn't believe me because the car is in such good shape for its age.

 

I always get asked if it's a custom color. Nope, that's the factory Maui Blue Metallic.

when ever i raise my hood and they see the injection they cant get it out fast enough "i took that injection crap off and put a carb on it"

i'll say its not as fast and ya gotta fiddle with the settings every time the weather changes doncha now!!
then i promptly go in "over their head mode" and explain the finer points of injection, why its nice when the temp changes that the system makes the adj itself and then proceed to make them realize how little they know about cars.

its a 86 ws6 trans am no its 305 tune port for now it came on the car

 

going to do a complete mod on it LS1 eng and trans ,redoing interior with 98-2002 dash

 

some kid at a gas station asked me, is that a 2.2 ecotec? ((i have a 91 camaro with a 4 inch cowl hood, hugger orange with white strips and 18 inch irocs. lol)) i said nope, its a hybusa motor with a 115mm turbo, that kid said damn i bet itll do 130 man. lol

One I get more than ANYTHING else is:

"You know, I used to know a guy who had one of those...(insert story about how fast it was)"

Now with the amount of times I've heard this, either everyone in my local area knew this one, very popular guy who owned a Firebird, or there were a lot more Firebirds out there in the Washington, PA area than what were reported

Everyday my wife asks, "when will it be ready?"

 

I've been asked three times now, with my '89 Firebird, if that's a BBC in it.

Once from the guys at a transmission shop (they actually came out of the bays when I pulled in).

I tell them, it's a 2.8 V6 (which it is), and pop the hood. They walk away scratching their heads.

In all fairness, the engine is bored, stroked and heavily modded, but it's really the combo of the 260 cam and cat-back that give it a definite rumble at idle.

 

Everytime my GF sees it, "when will you stop changing peices?"

 

Some funny stuff here ....I cant beleive someone asked if it had an ecotec 2.2????????????????
