I don't know if the v8s are any more difficult to do than the v6s, but even if they are, changing plugs is pretty straightforward and easy...there is really nothing to teach, follow plug wires to spark plug, remove wire by pulling on boot, use appropriate combobulation of socketry, ratchet, extension bar and or drive size adapters...now when you have to change the plugs on a quad 4 some time then you can scratch your head,lol....no plug wires, and the plugs themselves hidden underneath the metal plate that goes where the intake manifold normally is, threw me off a little when I went to do a tuneup on that car.

Sounds like you don't have enough, and or the right tools, sometimes I find myself using a 1/2" ratchet with 1/2" extension bar, followed by 1/2 to 3/8 drive adapter, followed by 3/8th extension bar and finally the socket, if its angles that are your problem you want a swivel head ratchet or swivel joint most likely.

i have headers on my car and its not that bad, but i also have this weird lookin 12 point wrench that seems to be a Mercedes tool for idk what, but it makes plugs 100 times easyer than tryin to use a socket and rachet

You could try them on my car. Both the headers have to come off or you do it a 1/4 turn at a time. Stock manifolds are cake.

If you happen to be lucky (unlucky?) enough to buy a car with no AC from the factory, then plugs are a alot easier. Jack your car way up. Put stands under the car so you don't die an embarrassing death. Climb on your creeper and slide underneath. Change plugs and don't forget to celebrate each one with beer. Last step is not optional.
Don't ****ing drive till you sober up though. You will wreck your car and supply the rest of us with parts HEHE!

Is it really that much of a pita on the 8s? It's a cake walk on the gen 1 60/6s...even easier after I removed the AC and EGR,lol, and I would say in the v6 case its easier with headers than without.

I will have to borrow jack stands from my neighbor along with a jack (mine is broken). I guess I will give it another go.

They are harder for those of us who have not done them before. My 2000 Intrepids plugs arent too bad the problem though is trying to get the plug out of the little cylinder that it is so deeply set in.

Keep track of how many beers you owe yourself once you hit the legal drinking age.
Hey?!? You earned them, but you are right, you can't have them just yet.

. Do what I did and junk-pile the A/C parts. And yes, plugs on the V8 cars are a pain. On some 2nd gens, they had to be accessed through the wheel wells...
.Get yourself a plug socket with the rubber insert for the Intrepid... Those things are a pain to get the plugs out of sometimes (the socket, not the heads), and you'll never fight to get the plug out of the tube that way.

Re: Whats the first thing you get asked about your third gen?
Maverick, I would junk the parts but I really want to keep the car as close to it's from the factory original as I can. I should get the rubber insert because as bad as it could be a used pliers to pluck them out
, no damage was sustained but if I ever need to swap the plugs it wouldnt matter anyway. Member

I just thought of a really good piece of advice. I won't tell you what kind of plugs to buy. That is your decision. What I will say is DON'T CHEAP OUT!. Do your research and find what is right for you and your car. Save up, or borrow, the money if you have to. Do the job right the first time 'cause it don't get easier when you go to redo it.

its real dusty where I live so I go to the local store, buy a Coke, come back out and there are freaking phone numbers scribbled on my back glass
better yet, went up to Canada and this r!cer asks if there is an RB26DET in it, I didn't know they powered Camaros with Nissan engines.

A Skyline would destroy a lot of the cars on this forum. You'd be fortunate to wake up one morning and find the crappy Nissan engine known as the RB26 in it.

Re: Whats the first thing you get asked about your third gen?
I would too if I ran into a stock or mildly modifed Skyline. They aren't too fast in stock form (High 13 second car, 100-105 MPH) but they do have the legendary Nissan RB series engine. I've ran into a few boosted cars since owning the Slowstang.
First was a Cobalt SS, second was an older 240SX which most likely had a stock boosted 2.4, or an SR20 turbo swap, didn't technically race either of them. Although the Cobalt stepped on it when I was passing them, so I followed suit. Quick little car, stayed by me until 100, I let off about 120, a few MPH off the end of 4th gear for me. Me and the 240SX just did a few friendly fly bys, gave him a thumbs up as we pulled up to the next light.
One I actually ran was a boosted 2.5 I6 BMW 3 series. Claimed he was running 16 PSI, then asked me if I wanted to put money on it, so I was thinking it was a seriously quick car. Didn't put money on it, and ran him out of curiosity, and just barely got him.
It doesn't do too bad for a nearly stock 4.6. Just a cold air intake and tune as far as the engine goes. Most of it's mods are between the exhaust, trans, gears. I'm thinking about cheaping out and sticking an aluminum headed 4 bolt L98 from a C4 'Vette into the IROC, just to have it on the road again soon. The TPI L98 is a cheap, yet awesome engine.
For a daily driver, this is more than enough fun.

Above, what happens when a Testarossa and a Third Gen get it on.
Re: Whats the first thing you get asked about your third gen?
Even though on the title of one of these RAM trucks, it says Dodge.

JDM Skyline V35.

U.S. Infiniti G35:

Quite similar, huh?
That's enough Nissan talk for me today, even though I love them. I was thinking about a 350Z before I picked up the Slowstang. Just couldn't get myself to buy a V6.And yeah, them GTRs are monsters off the line. I'd have one if I were loaded, along with many other pricey cars. Just for giggles, here's a mean looking GTR to stare at.

wasn't saying the engine was bad I was just commenting on how stupid he was lol but there is no replacement for displacement, a V8 with the same set up would be faster plus I don't have the 305 my car came with though if i found an RB26DET or TT i would hang onto it just in case.
back to the OP "are those DUBs you got on them, phat rims bro" they are 17's and I am proud to say smaller is better for acceleration! >=(

"sir, are your wheels on fire?"
"is that a Lamborghini?" I wish I could afford one
"why is it always white trash driving that car" as much money I put into my car it would take white trash 4 or 5 years to collect that much money in welfare.

The wife: "when we dropping a V8 in mine?"
Me: "when I can afford it again"
or when I was 14, my ex gf "ooo what car is that it looks exotic" I am so glad I met a woman who loves cars as much as I do.

Wife: "When are you going to get the car moving again? It's taking up to much room in the garage."
Me: "Buy me a $1800 lift and it won't be in the way then."
"God those 12s look huge. Is it loud?"
"How did you even make those fit?!?"

"Is that 4" exhaust?!?"
"God your car looks like crap. Are you going to paint it?" - I'm currently taking the idea it's like the Millennium Falcon. It might not look like much, but it's got it where it counts.

1. Whats in it? V6
2. Is it for sale? No
3. Why are you modding a V6? I want to.
4. Why dont you just put in a V8? Don't want to.
A drunk guy asked me if it had a 302. And some kid asked me if it had a hemi.
