My brother asks me every other day when I'm going to fix the power steering...I just tell him its part of my exercise regiment.

 

My 81 had power steering issues as well. Except for parking in tight areas, it was never really a big deal.

 

It's quite possible you are just low on PS fluid, my car was pretty hard to turn on my first test drive after I got it running again, PS fluid was just low, I could steer with my pinky now probably, wheel is easier to turn than any other car I've driven..

hey burning oil isn't fun, my oil filter housing gasket was leaking for a day or so before I could fix it, and it was hot out too....so had the window down, and a top out too I think. It's not that bad when you're moving, its when you're sitting at a light that it sucks...

ok I couldnt let this one go. There are alot of "ricers" in my area and they are always crashing the nice car shows. Well I finally got a chance to take my car down to one of the local shows and of course here come all the hondas and eclipses. I drove past them and tried to park next to all the other muscle cars. BUT right as I was passing the last of the ricers he flagged me down and said I should park next to them because "all the imports park over here". all I could say was "are you f*cking serious? Its a Trans Am you dumb a**!" He just looked at me like I was trying to trick him into thinking it wasnt an import.

 

LOL FTW! But I have a much worse problem the Toybota Prius (top gear joke). One guy in the Republic of Cambridge driving a Prius gave me the victory salute and yelling obscenities at a stop light because my car was killing the polar bears and offensive to him. I said whatever and moved on. A few blocks down the road, a cop was writing him a ticket and the cop gave me a thumb up. Isn't karma wonderful.

 

The production process of his prius creates more pollution than a hummer would if you drove it your whole life anyways, much less an f-body, so meh, 90% of the people who are all smug about their hybrids are clueless anyways.

 

Its like that with most new cars. Making a new car creates more pollution than an older car will put out its tail pipe if it ran everyday for 40 years. So by keeping an older car in good running shape and on the road instead of buying a new car, youre helping the enviromment.

 

just got warning for this a few days ago in the 2 years ive owned the car.

I found out about that the other day too. "I'm not pulling you over because of your driving... Do you have a front plate?" so the cop was training a new guy and I didn't get a ticket but geez I thought the front Plate thing was only in Chicago. Also, he didn't mention my limo tint windows or loud exhaust. I got a "sounds good" when I started it to leave.

I always get the "WHOA! clean interior"...comment since my paint looks like hell and I can't yet afford to have it repainted the way I want to, yet my interior is very clean.

That said, the question I hate most is "can I smoke in your car?" answered by "NOO!"

or "can I eat in your car?" or Can I drink in your car?" or the dreaded "can I drive your car?" all of which get the "NOO!"

 

People usually only ask to eat in my car once. "where's the cup holder ?" the passenger seat... Aka you!

The first day I drove it to work my boss came in and asked who's "ta ta" car was in the parking lot. I was really confused and just asked "you mean the trans am?". I don't know who calls them ta ta cars lol

I got pulled over for only that reason... no other ticket and I was not speeding.

 

It's great that cops can't find anything else to pull us over for besides front plates. But come on, that ruins the look of the car.

 

I'm from Illinois too. Good thing I just bought my GTA and have temp plates. Meaning I legally don't need a front plate till the end of July
But even then I doubt I'd put on a front plate.

Where I live "24 find are supposed to be cool. So I always get asked why don't I have bigger rims. What kinda sound system? My favorite is when I go to the krispey kreme on friday nights and all the ricers assume that its slow or for girls because its an auto. Haha I can't help but laugh at them

 

I am amazed how many people ask when I am getting new rims. They just don't understand that rims are the least important thing for me.

first thing every time, is whats the red button do? (its for line lock, right on the center console) i usually respond with dont worry about it, just NEVER hit the red button. then its funny to watch people try to guess

 

Today when i was leaving my high school, I hear some kid yelling at me "HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET THAT CAR MAN?!?!?!" to which I responded "Dealership, it was only $2200" folllowed by me revving it.
"YEAH, YOU KEEP REVVING THAT THING!!!"
LOLZ, I love high school!

Then today at a different dealership I pull into the shop which runs along the front of the maintenence center. A sales manager walks up and asks me whats up and I tell him that I need my plugs and wires done. So after asking the year and engine size he walks back into the shop. 5 minutes later he walks back and tells me it will be $400 even if I supply my own plugs because it will take 3 hours to do the work. He then goes on to tell me about how when he was walking back to the guy the guy just looked at him and was like "Don't even ask me, I don't even want to touch that thing!" So I reply with a chuckle and tell him that I will let him know. lol

Also over the past few days I have been getting that thing stinks and one of my new friends mom was like "I'll see if my "man" can hook you up!" SWEET

 

What's really lolz is people who don't do their own plugs and wires!

 

Hey now. You tell me a single mom that teaches her 17 year old son how to do their own plugs and then I will listen. I would do it but you know how hard these cars are to do plugs in. Wires = not bad at all plugs = pretty dang hard.

 

I don't know if the v8s are any more difficult to do than the v6s, but even if they are, changing plugs is pretty straightforward and easy...there is really nothing to teach, follow plug wires to spark plug, remove wire by pulling on boot, use appropriate combobulation of socketry, ratchet, extension bar and or drive size adapters...now when you have to change the plugs on a quad 4 some time then you can scratch your head,lol....no plug wires, and the plugs themselves hidden underneath the metal plate that goes where the intake manifold normally is, threw me off a little when I went to do a tuneup on that car.
